The designations for the sculpts have more to do with the form of the figures than when they were released i.e. new o-ring figures would still be classic because of the construction method not because they were released post-25th |

I forgot about v7 Wetsuit. That is an amazing looking figure. I always have to contain myself too. I never got these figures before but the more I look, the more I want to pick some up. I?ve been picking up some of the vehicles. I really like the Venom Cyle. I want to get the red one but it?s expensive right now.

Also, there are some really excellent vehicles from that era. A few of us have gone in to detail on that subject a few times around here somewhere. While these are by no means the only two worth checking out, the Patriot Grizzly and Night Attack Chopper are definitely worth picking up. I had both and loved 'em.

Even though they're heavily re-used parts, the Viper Lockdown set has some of my favorites in it, especially the GIJoe/GIJane

Another one that comes to mind is Gung Ho v16. That is my favorite version of that character, such a cool look. He basically tore off the sleeves of his dress blues jacket and that is very in-character for me. Also, he is among the very early figures to have swivel wrists, working holster, and a removable vest.
That era was cool for having accurate versions of real world guns come with many of the figures. It was also the first time some figures had removable vests and working holsters. What I didn't appreciate was the card art. After the lavish paintings of the vintage era, the new sculpt era's bad comic book art was such a letdown. |

You know, JvC was right on the tails of me getting into collecting as an adult, as I came back in with the RAHC line from 00-01. I remember being super disappointed when they changed it up, and for the longest time, I'd only buy the odd ARAH repaint. That disappointment actually tends to overshadow the fact that with Spytroops and even more so VvV, I actually jumped back on board pretty hard. I did ultimately get rid of everything except the o-ring stuff, and stayed with that as my only figure collecting for years.
