Unfortunately ya had to subscribe. I always hated that hasbro didnt just release the figs themselves instead of the club. Savage was a ginourmas douche.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. There's even a thread for that debate:
https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...figures-5.html The way I look at it, if once scale does well, it puts more money in Hasbro's pockets. That leads to more types of products, which would hopefully include more 4-inch figures and accompanying vehicles. |

I said this in another thread and someone pointed me here.
I believe this poll will show that ME is more popular but I think that is a reflection on the community that is here on HT. HT's most popular days happened during the 25th boom. The vintage threads here are never as active as ME figure threads. However the other data point I would add to this debate is data from the social media groups. One of the largest GI Joe groups that only covers oring is 21k members. There is not a modern group that comes anywhere close to that membership numbers. There are no general FB groups that are close to that oring group. The only Joe group on FB that beats that oring group is a offtopic group that just adds everyone including fake profiles and trolls so I don't count that one. I passed on joining Hisstank several times in its early days because it seemed more...unruly at the time. I dont know if it's that my standards have changed or the 'Tanks since then, but I'm here now. |

I prefer O-ring at this time & place of my life for two reasons.
First, the figures worked & were consistent for use in the vehicles & play-sets. They looked good on their cards with their modest accessories. Second, I want to chase that vintage mint in package high without the high prices or taking a gamble on the condition of the toy. Also, I’m uncomfortable with other peoples’ used stuff. |

I love O-Ring, for me it is mandatory for Joes. If not, just seems like a Star Wars figure to me, loses all the essence.
I think VvV and GI Joe vs Cobra, showed us that O-ring can look very good and modern if well done, and if that is the idea.

Because I like to actually play with my toys, o-ring is my preferred style. The 4" modern stuff looks great and photographs really well, but as far as actually moving their joints around - they're a bit unwieldy when compared to the easy movement o-ring figures have.
