The problem is they won't hire you if you don't have the experience, but you can't get the experience because they won't hire you.

I purged my collection of vintage O-Ring figures almost 20 years ago. They were falling apart, with the o-rings popping when I would just pick them up. I didn't want to restore them with replacement 0-rings so got rid of them, to my later regret. I went all in with modern figures in 2007, rounding out my collection with GIJCC sets and exclusives, Marauder Task Force Kickstarters and purchases, and later vintage vehicle purchases such as the USS Flagg, Defiant and other smaller vehicles and playlets. I continue to collect and customize 4" modern era figures, but as most of us have done, have added 6" figures to the lineup.
I will purchase the retro o-rings that Hasbro will release out of nostalgia.

I much prefer the O-ring figures. I’m more interested than play value and vehicle compatibility than I am with trying to get as much detail and articulation into use a small scale. I’m also not a fan of the proportions of the ME figures. I understand why the ME 4” figures exist as a way to modernize, but I feel we are at a point now where the best of what you can do with detail and articulation is being expressed through the 6” classified line. For me I feel the ME 4” figures kind of fall in between O-rings and Classified, but don’t really beat either at their respective specialties… kind of a Jack of all trades, master of none vibe. Saying that I am happy they exist for the people who like them.

Woodman 29 recently provided a nice retrospective on Valor vs Venom. GI Joe was completely off my radar when that line was released.

Oh man, I have so much of this shit in my storage. This is when I was heavily into army building after getting a decent amount of disposable income. Does anyone still collect this type of sculpt? This isn't the kind of O-ring I plan on keeping.

Hiya has teased they have the license to make 4" Joes. Let's look at arguably their best figure. Here's a review by AnthonysCustoms.
