Cobra Commander tops the list for me. At first I liked the way he looked, but as we get more and more figures with the classic look and feel, he is starting to standout as an oddity.
Second on my list would probably be Gung Ho. I also agree with the comments on Destro, I would like a blockier looking mask on him. But I can live with what we have. Maybe if they ever get to a V2 Destro, we can get that blocky gold mask. |

I'm content to wait and see what other versions are release, maybe a more classic version among them, that appeals to me a bit more. I like having options and choices, more than I necessarily fear missing out on something.

Personally, I hope doesn't go too classic with most of the future release. I think the Cobra Trooper really hit the aesthetic with its combination of new and retro. I'd love to see that applied to more figures, and I still wish the BAT maybe looked a bit more robotic like the designs from Operation Blackout

With the core characters, they can do both. Updated versions, and classic ones. Personally, I like a good mix. The Cobra Trooper was a great POC style update, kind of like a POC Shock Trooper even. It's a sensible update. Crimson Guard, can probably remain classic. Like the BAT. Breaker was a good update to a rather plain 1982 design. Sensible update. Grunt and Footloose I can see being updated, to basically look like modern-equipped infantrymen, with callbacks to their classic designs of course.

I like the idea of having both classic and updated looks. With a classic looking figure, I'm almost guaranteed to buy it. Updated looks are hit and miss for me. I wonder if sales of the more 'classic' looking figures have been stronger? With new looks, I don't always feel the pull to get them - which my wallet appreciates.

Personally, I would really like to have a classic G1 Duke headsculpt. I understand the whole "modernized" approach they're taking, but... the dude just doesn't have the commanding presence as is.

I would make G.H. undeniably a Marine. I'd secure the trademark, put U.S.M.C. on his vest, give him the eight point utility cover, return the E.A.G. tat back to his chest and have his pants done in Marpat.

Yes, Gung Ho needs to be redone with the original chest tattoo; repainted and repackaged as Gaucho!
Destro needs to be rereleased as Red Jackal and Cobra Island Roadblock needs to be packed with new accessories and rebranded as Heavy Duty. Snake Eyes needs to be reused to release Cobra Mortal, Cobra Invasor, Lobisomem and Cobra de Aco. Lady Jaye needs to be repainted and released as Canary Ann. |

People sure do love these, lets moan about designs threads. Wait long enough and a version you like will come along. But if they do reissues I would like more Cobra Troopers as those were really difficult to get in the UK.

I'd like most of the Joe 6" Classified figures to be re-issued, including of course the Target Cobra Island exclusives (as mainstream releases). This is not because I want the figures to be improved upon - but because I couldn't find most of them, either at retail or online for a reasonable price.
So, re-releasing these is the only way some collectors (myself very much included) will be able to get these figures. |
