Classified Steel Brigade Haslab. With today's technology you could upload images of your noggin' and hasbro 3d prints your likeness in 1/12 scale. Includes custom file card.
$150 each. No more than 10 per customer. You can hand them out as gifts to your co-workers. The looks on their faces when they realize they are holding a very limited edition G.I. Joe action figure of everybody's favorite I.T. guy. Priceless. Logistically it's a mess but would be very cool if Hasbro could pull it off.

It was officially referred to as the ASPID helicopter in the IDW Larry Hama joe comics. I think it occurred during the Snake Hunt run. While not official from Hasbro, I was say that is official enough for most of us. I knew about that custom as well (I made a similar custom that year after seeing it) and I remember thinking that was pretty funny at the time.
But if he does do that, Zarana and Zandar are likely to transform into twins (Just kidding! I heard talk about it already.) Who knows, maybe Hasbro will also use the name COBRA A.S.P.I.D. for the heavy-lift helicopter/skycrane, but I would not recommend it. Seriously, the word aspid is spanish for asp, which is already taken by COBRA and used for the vehicle known as the COBRA A.S.P. (Assault System Pod), which is a rather iconic toy in the line going as far back as 1984. Quote:
It would seem that Larry Hama is a lurker on this forum.

Next Haslab for me would be a new WHALE. Loved that vehicle. Right up there with the Rattler. Or maybe you know a…cough…um… USS something or other.

So far the choices I've seen mentioned more than once (listed by original release year):
RETRO: Ultimate Hiss Cobra Missle Command / Mass Device GI Joe HQ / PIT Rattler Whale Flagg Tactical Battle Platform Night Raven Terror Drome Thunder Machine + Dreadnoks Defiant Updated Stars & Stripes set Sky Crane / Aspid CLASSIFIED: Vamp Hiss Dragonfly Thunder Machine Might be time for one or two of AWOL's signature polls ;)

My personal long-term goal is to sort-of recreate the 86 Sunbow opening with the Joes attacking Cobra Island in a massive display. To do this requires:
USS Flagg Terrordrome Joe Landing Craft I'll take any of the above in Retro HasLab |

I don't care if they are Haslab or just production runs but I would like an updated APC, preferably with swappable interiors so you could have the standard troop transport or the Action Force/UK interior. Rattler, whale, etc are all cool but whatever they make, I can't justify more than 150-200 bucks. Its not that I can't afford it, I just can't justify it in my own mind before I even broach the topic with my supply chief that approves all purchases.
The Skystriker is not a bad deal financially, I just am not a skystriker fan, nor do I want O-rings. |

I look forward to that, but IMO it?s a little too soon. Another week or two of discussion would help us all refine our thinking a little more before voting, and also give more time for other ideas to surface.
