As far as the Dic toon, the first full season focused on 1990 characters and included scads of the 1990 and 1991 characters on CapBritain?s list. (Not a flaw since his is a Marvel list!) Capt Grid-Iron starred as a Flint-like character in that season too, or even almost Duke-like, so he doesn?t belong on the collaborative list we?re making, unless you want to editorialize that he was so wooden that his character actually didn?t appear.

I?m pretty confident that I remember Sky Patrol appearing in there too.

As far as the Renegades, weren?t they in The Movie as intimidatingly rough-around-the-edges charges of Slaughter?s, who the Rawhides had to join after they got in trouble? I think Mercer also reappeared in the Dic toon in his 1991 look.

I remember a few 1992 Joes like ninja force Storm Shadow and talking battle commanders Hawk in Dic?s last season, but it should be safe to assume none of the 1993 or 1994 characters ever appeared in an animated show.

Great point about DIC. I doubt I ever saw more than 2-3 episodes from that run when I was a kid, and didn't even realize it was a different show - maybe even a different canon - until many years later. But you're right that it should count as much as Sunbow or Marvel for this purpose.

I mis-wrote something above. I meant to say that the 1991 characters were featured in S2 of Dic, not that they were in S1 alongside the 1990s like I seemed to be saying. A few could have been, kinda like I recall some 92s in the mostly 1991 season, but the way I wrote it was a mistake.

Also, I found the intros for the Dic series on YouTube, and they included Backblast, Freefall, Bullhorn, Pathfinder, Gnawgahyde, and Overkill from your list. IDK if that is exhaustive though. As far as what to consider a meaningful vs unmeaningful appearance, or a primary vs non-primary part of the universe, I suppose everyone?s mileage may vary, and imo it?s just easier to avoid the judgment call.

I was thinking about this at the top but you're right, easier to just draw the line at "appeared - preferably named - in Marvel/Sunbow/DiC."
