Did anyone else pre-order the Pulse exclusive Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow? I just pre-ordered them mainly so I could use the weapons for my original SS that's incomplete but also so I could compare how they do things in regards to the new O-Ring Joes. In the photos they look pretty spot on to the originals save that SS looks really pale (could be the lighting.) I really hope the plastics are good and I may dissect Snake Eyes to see the full construction.

I'm not a huge fan of the reissue idea since I have all the vintage figures and don't feel that I need a second, almost identical figure. I'm probably the minority though and think it's a good idea for those who don't want to drop the money on an original or want a more durable contemporary.
My request would be to (a) change them enough so they are easily distinguishable from the original... more distinct facial features is enough. And (b) add some new characters to keep diehards like myself interested. Wayne Ruthel, Cobra Snake Pit Crew, Pilot Scarlett, and NF Ripcord are all very welcome! For me, if it goes the way I hope, it would be a MOC collection of the same figures or extremely hard to tell there's any difference. If I were a millionaire I'd be all over getting the originals on graded cards, but even ones with crappy cards are too expensive for me to consider. This would be a good alternative. I don't want anything tweaked or adjusted. I want to see the figure hanging on my wall and trick me into thinking it's vintage. Maybe V1 Scarlett would look better with a ponytail. If they're trying to hit people in the nostalgia with this line, she shouldn't have one and I wouldn't buy it if she did. |

I did. I'm looking forward to comparing them to my '82 SE and vintage SS. I am very curious how much "shrink" there will be, as no copy will ever be truly 1:1. Having the SS accessories will be nice. I have Black Major copies, but those are brittle and I don't really want to "play" with them.

I ordered four sets, two for myself. One to open and one to keep carded and the other two will be for birthday gifts. One for my cousin and the other for our friend we grew up with.

I would not be surprised if the HasLab was a way to prove to retailers that there is interest in the line. "If we can sell over 16,000 toys at $230, surely we can move lots more at lower price points". If this remains Pulse exclusive, I would not count on vehicles, at least not more than 1 Cobra, 1 Joe a year. But if this line ever hits mass retail:
Wolverine w/ Cover Girl Cover Girl was the only female o-ring mold Hasbro did not have during the 1997-2006 rerelease period, and the Wolverine wasn't seen either. Simple and iconic. Toss 'n Cross (bridgelayer) w/ Tollbooth Tollbooth shares legs with Duke and Gung Ho, which are likely to be somewhere in the line anyway. The Bridgelayer is not as iconic as other vehicles, but it crosses over a bit into "construction" play, something that never really goes out of style with kids. Requires less tooling than you might think, with the cannons being the same as well as the bridge halves being identical as well. Stinger w/ Stinger Driver (and/or Vypra) Figure is a simple repaint, the VAMP will probably make an appearance anyway, and Cobra needs ground vehicles besides HISS |

I have the Walmart all black HISS Tank and I'd prefer the Stinger to beef up my Cobra forces over VAMP.
I was assuming the SE & SS o-ring two pack was to prove to the big retailers there's demand for o-ring. |
