Who would be your vote for the first 1990's Joe and Cobra to make it into Classified? After Croc Master, I fully expect Hasbro to keep surprising us with off-the-wall choices early on. Getting some 1990's figures represented is very possible...
I vote for Big Ben (1991) and Headhunter (1992). |

Ill see your Big Ben and raise you a Big Bear. Both of those figures hold a special place in my heart.
Cobras? Ill jump off the beaten path a bit with Cesspool, and bring it back around with a CG Immortal.

I’d argue that Arctic Storm Shadow already won that no-prize, being based on 1992 Stormy, but it’s still a good subject.
A few that seem both good and 90s-essence to me are Desert Scorpion w/ scorpion, Slice & Dice, Ninja Force Scarlett (comic style w/ long hair or figure style w/ pony tail?), BAT v2, and Crimson Guard Immortal. Snake Eyes 1991 and/or 1993 as well. Heavy Duty and a ninja viper repaint of Storm Shadow might be good for easy reuses of molds if you wanted/needed that. If those don’t go far enough into the bright & weird, there’s also Sludge Viper, Toxo-Viper v2, and Cesspool, but maybe against 80s Airtight and this year’s BBQ rather than Cleansweep or Flint. Ozone is pretty decent though…. If Star Brigade is on the table, how about the Vortex we never got? Or how about taking up some of the unproduced 1995 Battle Rangers ideas and making figures out of them? I think it’d be cool to have Classified help deliver on things we always wished we had but didn’t…speaking of, was Cool Breeze a 1990 or 91 character? Benzheen was roughly the Desert Shield/Storm era, right? On the other end of the spectrum, Big Ben and Ambush would be liked by 80s guys, and would go well with Valaverse probably too. Range Viper, Alley Viper v2, and Headhunter Stormtrooper are all really cool. Would really love to see a Classified take on Laser Viper too. Always looked awesome in the art moreso than the figure, would be really interested to see a new take on that look… Last edited by books; 10-25-2021 at 09:40 AM.. |

I'd love to see General Hawk, with the jet pack. For Cobra, Interrogator with the Battle Copter.

Big Ben is one of my favorite Joes overall, so definitely him. I also like Bullhorn and Freefall, but I think we need Ripcord before we get Freefall (and probably Shockwave before Bullhorn...). Cobra-wise, it has to be SAW-Viper right? He's become iconic for that era, thanks to the comics. Most of the other 90's figs after 1990 were redeco'ed 80's characters, and not many were improvements.

I think Ambush would be a fair choice, given that he's been used a few times by IDW over the past several years.
Personally, the '91 Sci Fi v2 was one of my favorites, so I'd be happy to have a revised version of that. |

Lots of good suggestions in this thread. I enjoyed the 1991 and 1992 lineups. Big Ben, Dusty and Sandstorm, Lowlight, Heavy Duty, Crimson Guard Immortal, Snake Eyes, General Hawk, Red Star, Big Bear, Ninja Force.
