Thanks for the lil brief. I have not posted much since the Rise Of Cobra days and I only visit about twice a week (Saturdays and Sundays).
Some exciting news there, even if the price is a bit dear (I do understand why). Not much of a cartoon guy, but I did think about getting a He-Man back in '83 to use as Ramar. Just to clarify; no ReAction Red Jackal because there is an O-ring already, even a foreign produced one?

In past interviews, Brian has said they would reissue S7 figures if there was enough demand. I hope they reconsider producing replicas of existing rare o-ring figures. Seems like there is money to be made.

There are still a few foreign O-ring figures I would like to get but have not because of price. I would probably be okay getting new O-ring versions, but would not be upset if they never happen.
As for replicas of rare O-ring figures, I guess I don't know where I stand. I bought a Black Major Starduster A version as a sort of place holder until I get an original B version (I don't understand why I never orderd one as a kid). I don't know how many rare/expensive O-ring figures there are that I want and don't have. Horror Show and black Serpentor are the only two that come to mind. I think I also got a Black Major Steel Brigade Commander, but that was not a figure I planed/hoped to get an original of. As for what I actually get of this new line, if they really do blend seamlessly with the original line I will probably have the same attitude I did with the '97 and '98 lines; get every thing that is not a hideously colored Duke;) |

I’ve caught the bug lately and been ordering up some childhood favorites. Brawler tank is en route.

I often mention being down to just five to have what I want of a complete run (all retail figures + drivers, a few mail-ins, no TF/NF, and I recently decided to part ways with any OG13 that got a v2, as I just don't really like them much), but I always forget Starduster, so it's actually 6: Star Duster, Rumbler, Hardtop, Payload, Heavy Metal, and a Ninja Viper. Obviously, these are all stupid expensive. While I'd likely be over the moon at a reissue, I have a sneaking suspicion that it wouldn't be the same, and I'd still feel compelled to track down the original. I would, however, really like to see close approximations of some of the non-US variants, especially some of the SA stuff.
As an aside, I was super hot to be done with my run and be "out", but between the remaining figures I need amounting to about $2000 and the current drought of o-ring product, I just decided to jump head first into modern Transformers... which has shown me that I apparently just need to be collecting something and might want to consider getting help. As it stands right now, I'm not going anywhere. As an aside to an aside, I have spent WAY more than $2000 on Transformers since February. I really should have just picked up my six Joes and been done with it

Dolph, I occasionally post things in a "free shit" thread, and while there isn't anything super crazy there ATM, if "Cobra Island" is in the US, I may have a thing or two you might want. Fair warning, though- I'm slow as shit to ship; I'm currently about a month or more in from posting last time and still have to get some of the stuff that was there out:
https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...it-thread.html My son just turned 4, and with the influx of Delta 17 figures, hes been asking to play GI Joe every day when he gets home from school. It is super cool - it feels good to be in the mix of all this and what I dreamed of when backing the skystriker haslab. I caught the bug and am waiting for the 2016 Soundwave Hisstank, Brawler, Dusty / Law & Order 2 pack, and just received an Eaglehawk. The deals felt good at the time but I'm an idiot and didn't do the math on holding out on the Hisstank and trying to track down the Rattler/Hisstank together. I didn't realize they were part of a 2 pack, and following the ebay schizo logic of pricing, a new Rattler isn't much less than the 2 pack. Oh well - I need to slow down anyways, I can't open these with the kids all at once and have to plan out holidays / reasons. Been trying to research items that are obtainable "complete" or in some cases new (like the 2 packs from the 2000s). I've been plotting out what to get, and its really crazy the flood of memories that can hit you when you see a figure or vehicle you haven't seen in 30 years. That is how I felt when I saw the Brawler Tank again. I think I have a pretty solid list of "wants" put together in the vehicle department, and as far as figures, it seems my era is 90-93 and there are a smattering of figures, particularly the ones that came with backpacks that made noise, where I may end up paying the ebay troll toll to get the kiddos the same ones I had in decent shape. I'll ping on your thread as one of them was on my radar. I wrote out a longer response with my trackdown list but I'm not sure anyone will appreciate me flooding this thread with my dreamlist. |
