I never really looked at myself as an o-ring collector, I really adore the modern sculpt anniversary-p.o.c.-renegades figures, but I'm really into the o-ring reissues and these. It also makes me wonder, how many people in this thread are also getting the Operation Recall o-ring figures?

Something like the 1995 Manimals or Battle Corp Rangers, on the other hand, are truly the deepest of deep-cuts. They were never released at retail and had no media exposure, and thus have almost no nostalgia attached to them. They really only appeal to hardcore collectors who saw photos of them in collector-oriented magazines in the late 1990s. |

In recent years, having mostly completed my 1982-1994 run of G.I. Joe figures, I've been branching off to a wider o-ring focus. I went all-in on Strike Force Alpha and Delta-17, and have the recent Ghostbusters 4-pack. However, I also got a little burned out on Kickstarter. I believe I only committed to the first wave of Operation Recall, as well as a limited selection of Legends of the Hidden Force and In the Navy. I'm going to play all those by ear and see how much I like the ones I get before committing to more. The amount of money Kickstarter requires you to pay up front for figures that may not materialize for years just isn't a great investment for me. |

On that front, Super 7 has probably made a good call focusing on Sunbow. The G.I. Joe cartoon was huge back in the day. Just about every kid in America watched it in the '80s, and it's still pretty popular streaming on Tubi and YouTube. My son has watched every episode and knew immediately what the Fatal Fluffy was.

My collection is primarily focused on o-ring G.I. Joe. As a kid, I bought "G.I. Joe compatible" figures like Lanard or Remco now and again, but I never took them seriously and mostly used them for spare parts and kitbash fodder.

I have also funded three kickstarters and honestly have forgotten about them. It will be nice to get all the figures when they arrive but the initial excitement and anticipation has worn off. No knock on the kickstarters themselves as I realize it's all part of the deal. I do need to get some of the Delta-17 figures as they look very well done. |

Super7 are teasing a Conan the Barbarian announcement today. Both ReAction and Ultimates have a fairly built out line already.
Chance for Conan O-ring? Maybe. Brian Flynn did tease they're going to test some more properties this year. |

I'd be down for it. Arnold, comic, Frazetta, I'm in at 3'3/4" O-ring.

i am an all in backer for recall. i also backed strike force alpha(cherry picked), longbow(all in), legends of the hidden force(all in) and in the navy(cherry picked). skeletron for the o-ring skeletron (got 3 of him).
i REALLY REALLY wanted CHAOS to succeed and was all in but it didnt meet the goal. i also backed these that didnt meet the goal: eagle 1976 (zica toys - for the o-ring astronauts; which is now on their website) retros (also by zica toys.) CHAOS (just in case it was clear that it did not meet hte goal and i really wanted it. probably above all others i want this one.) i bought some delta17 even though i got soem weird vibe. i got all but a second good guy trooper. i have the hasbro ghostbusters. i only got the triple t transformer, my son has megatron (so i guess it's technically mine) i think that's it. if it's o-ring, there's a good chance im going to back it; but depending on how it looks and who's behind it will play a big factor in it. like, i wont be backing anything from white elephant toys again; and recall needs to show me final sculpts (after 3d model repairs) before i back their second line or cherry pick. the price is another factor that's going to make me take a second look now. |
