As much as I love to see some 3.75 Joes (though I dont buy non o-rings). I do have a big issue with badly scaled items when its this drastic. I can get around the Millenium Falcon or the X-Wing cos it does the job closely enough for me from a toy. But this?! I just cant get past that its so ridiculously out of scale, they might as well not have bothered and made something different.

i dont have any dog in the super7 reaction fight (if they arent 5 dollars i dont buy them and im not interested in the gijoe line). but, given that i've been obsessed with scifi spacecraft for the last few years - this cobra thing has a place. the only things keeping me away is again, the price, but also that i cant think of something that would go beyond "just cobra" to use it with. i'd be happy with this when i was a kid.

i imagine that it would be like the millennium falcon as far as "opening it up" type of play features. not the bfg legacy falcon, but the old potf, potf2 style where it has that one large plate that removes and you can play in; or a carrying case like the rebel troop transport.

the thing to keep in mind when it comes to the size of this thing isnt "it needs to be stupid big like the 5 seconds it has in that intro" it's part of a line 100% meant to be vintage in the 5 poa action figure style. that means, out of scaled but serviceable large vehicles.

Do we know if the Thundermachine is the end of the line for O-Rings? I haven't been able to track everything as closely as I normally do.

Hasbro has essentially said O-Ring is dead, but that was before this was announced. Some semantic sleight of hand where they consider this a "Transformers" product (probably a budget designation).

Strictly IMO, it's safe to say we won't be seeing pitifully overpriced 2-packs or Vehicles like the Stinger again anytime soon, but we may see pitifully also overpriced Transformers with O-Ring figures included.

It's incredible to think Hasbro will spend R&D, design, etc in this format but not in just a dang O-Ring product.

I keep hoping we get lucky with another Haslab. I mean that's a self contained thing and in theory should eat the cost of the whole project. So no worry about "wasting" tooling on the O-Ring fellows

they havent put their energy into o-ring product since 94. sure they've released it over time, and created new sculpt o-ring figures; but every time they choose to end it. they choose to make distribution difficult to find figures. they make choices that the line stops making money. then tehy finally choose to end the line because "no one wants it."

i dont even know why hasbro calls itself a toy company anymore. they've priced kids out of buying toys, and parents out of relenting 13 dollars for basic things. adults are the market, and the adult toy collector market is small.
