Except Hasbro didn't say "we're done" for Marvel Retro. The video specifically has Stevie offering up all kind of clarification as to what "resting" means, so while he's certainly saying there are no plans right now, he's also keeping open the possibility of revisiting down the line.
So not even for Marvel has Hasbro said "we're done." But they are being transparent in their communications, which, at its core, is all we as consumers would really like to know w/r/t O-Ring. Transparency. Is it alive and well? Dead? "Resting," if you insist on noncommittal industry phrases? Just be honest with consumers. Say something, anything for god's sake. Until the silence changes, everyone here will remain smugly - and stupidly - assured that their perspective is the right one, and everyone else's is wrong. (Yes, that was a stone cast from a glass house. I've never not been self-aware.) They never said Modern Era was dead in the West. It's dead, though. And what's left is confined to Japan. |

I mean, we all know Hasbro isn't going to say "IT'S DEAD." That would make people lose interest, stop buying stuff still on shelves, and basically kill any hope for the future.
They never said Modern Era was dead in the West. It's dead, though. And what's left is confined to Japan. That pretty much spells the end to me. Otherwise, it could be argued that the line hasn't ended since 1964. Semantics aside, they told us about both lines coming to a close. They haven't done that with o-ring. |

Similarly to Marvel's Retro, they did 100% say it was coming to an end "for now", though, although the exact word used was "hiatus"...

They haven't done that with o-ring. Now, does that mean I think o-ring is coming back strong? Nope. I don't think the market's there for it, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they have something planned. Regardless, you news-junkies probably need to figure out how to enjoy what you already own instead of craving reveals of future shit to preorder.
