Sources are for squares. Conjecture or bust!

There was a video on Instagram from a Hasbro guy saying the Marvel retro line was on hiatus... it has been mentioned lots of times in this thread as support for both sides, whether o-ring is dead or not.

Found that by googling "marvel 375 retro" and hitting the "news" button. It is important to cite sources BUT I do get tired of constantly "doing the research" for others, so it would be rare for me to call someone out for not doing so. Google is your friend.

I know Hasbro announced the end of the marvel Retro figures. I know that because they said it. They also said that ME was shelved. They have yet to say o-ring is. I'm not saying it isn't done, that there's definitely more stuff on the way, or any thing like that. What I am saying is that they haven't said it's done, and no amount of tea leaf reading is going to make the statement that the line is finished conclusive. Until Hasbro says "we're done", it's too soon to proclaim the death of the line.

Except Hasbro didn't say "we're done" for Marvel Retro. The video specifically has Stevie offering up all kind of clarification as to what "resting" means, so while he's certainly saying there are no plans right now, he's also keeping open the possibility of revisiting down the line.
So not even for Marvel has Hasbro said "we're done." But they are being transparent in their communications, which, at its core, is all we as consumers would really like to know w/r/t O-Ring. Transparency. Is it alive and well? Dead? "Resting," if you insist on noncommittal industry phrases? Just be honest with consumers. Say something, anything for god's sake. Until the silence changes, everyone here will remain smugly - and stupidly - assured that their perspective is the right one, and everyone else's is wrong. (Yes, that was a stone cast from a glass house. I've never not been self-aware.)

If it comes, it comes. I'm not holding my proverbial breath.
I have plenty to do with my collection that revolves around the "using" instead of the "getting" and "having" parts. I've moved back to collecting vintage for the few wants I have left, but also building dioramas instead. |

This is what drives me nuts with the Joe marketing team. They get a lot of praise, sure, and have put out some great products of late. But for an in-house property their transparency is virtually nonexistent, which is a slap in the face to a fan base that has put years / decades into the brand.

I'd be interested in getting into this new o-ring line if I knew the outline of where they intended to go with it...is it still in production? Do they intended to stay with the Transformers crossover? |
