I don't love to provoke ire, but I just want to know what reality folks live in where they think O-Ring news is on the horizon.

I don't think anyone thinks "news is on the horizon". Matter of fact, some of us being "positive" don't give a big fuck about news anyway, or at least don't crave it like a habit. We're not even being necessarily positive, but simply pointing out the actual reality where Hasbro pretty much always says when something is dead or cancelled. They haven't done that yet, so in this case, "no news is good news," as the saying goes. That's all anyone has said on the "positive" side, but for some reason others see that as a form of perpetual optimism. I'm definitely not optimistic about new o-ring product. I'm realistic, but that doesn't mean I'm obligated to be a Debbie Downer about it.

Its no different from folks saying o-ring is prepping for some 80's style resurgence, you just got to wait for the next stream but it's coming for sure...

It's frustrating when Hasbro just starts to get thing off the ground then silently shelves them, the 2 packs were decent, the Stinger was one of the highlights of the line...the ME collection started off strong with five or six waves of frequent releases that were economic friendly but just phased it out

Yes, I don't like to see Joe product lines not succeed especially when the brand's kind of niche in the mainstream, I'm hoping I'm wrong, I've even supported lots of these budget line toys from discount store just because it's Joe

I think this thread has the perfect combination of bleak cynicism and hopeful optimism, both of which can be supported by facts.

As for the last stream being some sort of o-ring rally, Hasbro never said that. Some of us were just trying mightily to hope it into being.

Oh, absolutely it was on us. Hasbro never promised anything. It's just that some of us (like me) can't help but play "armchair quarterback" and speculate. And the subject right now is very much "see what you want". No news? "Oh no, they have nothing!" No announcement of hiatus? "If it was dead, they'd tell us! Keep hope alive!"

And some of us are just realistic, and reminding you all that Hasbro usually says when they've shelved something. Call it the "voice of reason" or "optimism" or whatever you want, but some of us are just stating a counterpoint to this notion that there has to be "news" in order to keep hope alive. Somehow that got twisted (as always happens on here) into being obnoxious cheerleaders or some shit.

I understood that Hasbro said these were for the anniversary year, never expected an actual line and don't pine for news about toys, so my perspective is the same as ever: if Hasbro releases more o-ring stuff, cool. If not, cool. I got a fun experience out of the stuff they released. Just enjoy shit as it comes, gang.
