So far they?ve shown only left to right head o-ring re-res, no ball neck re-res. So I?m betting on mainly ?83-?84 figures. Wayne Ruthel is the wild card, as I can?t tell what neck construction he has.

I noticed this as well. And given that the Viper Pit figure appears to use Wayne's torso along with a Trooper head, I'm guessing they're both swivel-head figures.

I've been spending a lot of time on 3DJoes daydreaming about what-ifs, repaints and re-issues.
That's a real interesting point about the neck joint style. I always forget about that engineering change in '85. |

I didn't even think about the neck joint style. I hope they correct that.

Nobody seems to believe me on this, but it's super-clear we're getting NO other engineering changes other than plastic types and paint apps. They aren't resculpting anything.
I have a feeling this will become abundantly clear once we have that presentation at the end of February. As a side-note, the neck ball was kind of a lateral move depending on the figure - most of them have less side-to-side movement but gain up/down. Some ball joint heads are so bad that there's barely any articulation at all. |

This is absolutely true, though that too could be fixed if they wanted to. I personally would have liked to see them use this opportunity to make some minor tooling improvements beyond just softer thumbs and better o-rings. Things like minor tweaks to proportions where needed (Roadblock v1 comes to mind) or improved heads, and streamlined neck articulation. But there's been no evidence that they will be doing any of these things, which is good news for the "leave things as they were" crowd at least.

Wrist swivels or interchangeable hands would be welcome. It’s not an intrusive change & if done right improves the durability of the figure. Let the aftermarket handle different hand styles in different colors.

I understand where you're coming from, but through the years here on the Tank, I've come to assume that alot of folks don't know what the fuck they're talking about. All assumptions. All guesses. All hypothesis'. No one really truly knows anything about what Hasbro is doing unless that person works for Hasbro in the GI Joe department. So I don't really believe anything until Hasbro gets it out onto the retailers pegs. Now, you may be 100% correct, but still, I'm waiting to see what we actually get. And if you are right, then I will say, "Damn! BizCopperhead was right!"
