I remember the haslab skystriker thread there was dozens of people hating on it. and bashing people that back it. lol. and then I remember some of us were like your gonna regret not backing it.. and now here we are with dozens of people that have regret. lol. I didnt regret it one bit I ended up getting 2 and im glad I wasnt left behind. feel sorry for the people that missed it. but we all warned u guys not to miss this. now the only way u can get one is double the price on ebay when its released.
The only thing I regret is not getting a 2nd to cover the majority of cost of the one I got... But I still feel I got more than my money's worth with one, and I hate dealing with selling stuff online. |

Yeah there were a number of people on here and on youtube gung ho about trying to tank the Haslab, for whatever petty reason, but I'm glad it didn't work, cause now we have an awesome Skystriker set with a ton of cool figures coming.

As with some other people, my toy budget is tight, especially when I collect vintage o-ring Joes, retro o-ring Joes and MOTU Origins (which seems to be an ever expanding line, which I'm happy about, but is also expensive), so I really have to think hard about what I want. This is an amazing time to be an o-ring collector, but even so, I can't have everything, and as such, I decided not get in on Callsign Longbow or Operation Recall. They are both awesome, and while I love o-rings in general, and the old Joe team getting back to make new figures is awesome, I have found that what I really want are the o-ring Joes from my childhood, so the retro o-ring line is where I'm putting my money. I find that it's very easy for me to get sucked into the hype of all the other stuff, but when I think hard about what I really like, it's really the stuff I'm most nostalgic about, the figures I remember on the pegs as a kid, the vehicles I played with and my friends had. So, I'm limiting myself to the retro o-rings, both for financial reasons, and for not letting my hobby get out of hand. Anyway, just felt I needed to voice this realization as all these kickstarters have been happening recently.

Forgive my ignorance, and I'm not trying to troll here or anything by any stretch of the means. (Heh stretch, rubber, O-rings) However can someone explain to me what the benefit is of going back to the O-ring? From what I know they are prone to dry and become brittle after some time. Yes I heard they are easy to replace, but at the same time doesn't that make going back to that style of figure a little redundant?

There will be a lot of head-scratching here if Hasbro doesn't mention this line at PulseCon.
It seems the ideal time with Stinger and Duke/CC getting close to shipping around the same time. |

It wasn't commonplace in the '80s though, I tell you whut. I was able to charge $1 per figure to replace O-rings and my enterprising 7 year old self earned some Joe money back then by fixing other kids' joes! |
