yeah I rather have had the price be cheaper than get dozens of accessories. its so excessive with the cobra trooper/ officer 2 pack I had to sell some of my extra accessories on ebay. they just give way to many. I rather have 2 weapons each would have been perfect.

Excessive accessories seem like a carryover tenant from previous lines. The 50th figures were loaded with accessories as well, most of which I just tossed aside.

I kind of feel like the two packs are priced what they are as a way to justify their existence, because they did not release a lot of figures yet (if you discount all the figures coming with the Haslab and other vehicles), so I don?t know if it would make sense to for Hasbro to sell single carded figures at a lower price if they?re only releasing 6 figures in a wave (are we even counting waves at this point?), and limited runs at that (so far we?ve only gotten 3 two packs). If this line started as a mass retail release, with lots of single carded figures, then yes, I would have imagined a lower price point, but I can?t really see Hasbro lowering prices once prices have been established, because companies don?t generally devalue their own products. My hope is that when they do announce o-ring news, it?s positive, and that they only waited because they wanted the Classified line to get as much attention as possible. I guess we?ll see. |

More coming at PULSE CON, or something. SDCC was all about Classified, which is smart! That line is fire and that's where all the new blood that we need is.
I'm pretty satisfied with what we got this week: - Production samples of those sweeeeeeeeeeet ass carded Skystriker figures. - Confirmation that they're gonna keep the GODDAMNED blisters/bubbles in rotation for us old nerds. |

From the past few livestreams and interviews with Emily and Lenny, Emily made it pretty clear that they are not giving any news on o-rings at this time, and has quickly shut down any questions about future o-rings when asked during interviews, and doesn?t respond to questions about o-rings on social media. I?m trying not to read into this too much, because I feel like with the Classified Haslab campaign, and all the Classified releases, they?re currently in Classified mode, and don?t want any distractions from it. Emily was very enthusiastic about the success of the Classified HISS, and said it was proof of the success of the line that they could show their bosses? I don?t know what her thoughts are about the success of the o-ring line, because she?s been very quiet about that so far, but I just hope they don?t think o-rings are a harder sell and not worth the effort vs putting more time and resources into Classified because that?s the easier sell, cause o-rings clearly has a lot of support behind the line.
My hope is that when they do announce o-ring news, it?s positive, and that they only waited because they wanted the Classified line to get as much attention as possible. I guess we?ll see. The success of the stinger should have merited a second run. It?s a little worrisome that hasn?t happened yet. Perhaps they messed up the price point and financially it doesn?t make sense to produce more? I thought $33 was pretty cheat comparatively speaking. I don?t know what the future for o rings will be. Three 2 packs, 1 vehicle, and 2 crossovers is pretty disappointing imo. I know there are those who are just happy to get anything, which is fine. However with the pretty obvious success of the line so far, I was hoping for a little (if not a lot) more. |

The success of the classified line baffles me. They are pretty much larger ME figures at a $20 to $30 price point. They take up a lot of space and have a limited possibility for vehicles. Is it because other lines are 6 inch scale or is it because this is just something new and slightly different? Baffling.
Heck, the 2002 Joe relaunch was originally envisioned as a 6" line! The reality with GI Joe was that, without a big influx of new buyers, the line was withering away by sticking with 3.75" figures. And without that influx, the line was stuck in a design and thematic rut as they didn't have the resources to do much beyond reissues and repaints. As much as Joe fans hark on vehicles...vehicles really aren't a huge factor these days. Star Wars Black hasn't seen a notable vehicle release in years, and anything larger than a speeder bike has show VERY limited success. Even without vehicles, lines like Marvel Legends (whose own vehicle assortment has been phased out) continue to thrive. Quote:

Even Star Wars doesn't get more than a wave of 6 retro figures per year, and they've yet to touch vehicles. Maybe with the success of the Stinger and Haslab, they'll put more energy into that segment. Maybe we'd actually start seeing stuff that was produced AFTER 1984...
