Per today's GI Joe media round table, Hasbro is still figuring out the future of O-ring. That's not a vote of confidence considering we're only 6 months away from 2023 and zero 2023 product has been unveiled.

I'll now greatly temper expectations.

That is kind of a bummer considering how well received the o-ring figures and vehicles have been. On top of that the aftermarket for GI Joe is still through going strong so for Hasbro not to continue trying to get in on it seems like a questionable move.

Then again the Callsign:Longbow and Operation:Recall kickstarters can certainly fill the void.

The Future of O-ring could mean anything, good or bad. I’m sure the soft reboot is going to involve packaging changes & how we as fans react to whatever comes. Look at the doom & gloom being spoken about The change in Lego Minifigure series packaging.

Classified is fire right now, more so than ever thanks to the HISS. Hasbro is going to divert the majority of resources there, and rightfully so from a business perspective. Regardless of whether O-ring succeeded or not; it's not putting up Classified numbers.

Longbow and Recall are great for classic o-ring GI Joe-type figures. I prefer stuff tied to GI Joe media or the OG line, so they're not for me. But I'm sure many folks will enjoy them.

I'll patiently wait for Hasbro to officially announce a 2023 or beyond O-ring initiative, while simultaneously being prepared to not see another release past the anniversary Duke/CC and Stinger.

Well, darn. I appreciate their predicament...Classified is the future, I'll never deny that. I don't think they were totally prepared for what interest returning to O-ring generated. A successful Haslab, Stinger selling out in less than 24 hrs, and Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow "selling out" multiple times (though that's probably more like Pulse rationing out stock) all speak for a successful line. But where is its "home"? If retail has been offered and they are still saying "no" (SPECULATION), do they want a small Pulse line ongoing, or do they try something more?

I'm sure we are getting more. Keep in mind, toys have a 2-3 year design-to-shelf cycle. I think this first year was designed so that if the Haslab failed, they had easy repaint/slight retools to use scheduled factory time (booked more than a year in advance) to either finish out the line, or make time for more 100% tooled figures. I'm not panicking yet.

I?m not panicking either and I actually take what they said as a positive. As many have pointed out the successful Haslab, Stinger, SE/SS 2 pack and overall good sales on everything else have probably put Hasbro in the position to decide to continue with a relatively modest release on only pulse or see if they can expand further. I?m actually ok with the smaller releases because it?s easier on my wallet and easier to justify buying a few figures/vehicles a year vs buying a bunch like what is going on with Classified.

i backed 2 skystrikers. got 4 Trooper/ officer packs. Snake Eyes/ Stormshadow, and I got 2 stingers... Im all in and hope they decide to continue the line.. if not I also did back Callsign Longbow and might have to increase my funds to buy more during the backerkit
