There is a large fanbase in the UK for GI Joe, but its not like the US for obvious reasons. |

I also wanted to add that I think this might actually have saved the O-ring line. The slow sales of the 2-packs weren't promising.

The two-packs weren't instant sellouts. But they were also expensive, and I would hope had big margins to go with the big price. Trooper, Officer, and Cobra Commander tools are shared with the Skystriker so that's more savings.
I was hoping the team would mention the Stinger sellout. It's definitely a question someone should raise, in person, at Comic-Con. Or earlier from the inevitable HasLab interviews that are forthcoming. |

In addition to the cost, there was the issue of the Trooper Officer 2 pack being hard to army build (since you want more troopers than officers), and the Sunbow Duke receiving a lukewarm reception (maybe cause of Duke’s expression…) I got both btw and really like the Trooper and Officer, but this was my sense from some of the criticisms. So I hope the Stinger shows the team that when it’s done right, there’s a lot of appetite for o-rings. I actually only got 1 Stinger cause I thought Hasbro was going to reveal another o-ring on the last stream, and I needed to save money for it… but they didn’t so I’m kind of bummed I didn’t get another stinger before they sold out. I’m hoping it gets a 2nd run.

I really wish I'd have gotten more, though. The dude I got the Skystriker for in Austrailia couldn't get one, and I owe CC a few posts up quite a lot. Here's to hoping for a restock.

I only grabbed one myself because I was watching the stock plummet during the premium window and panic-checked out once they went live for non-premiums.

Yeah, it's so hard to say because production is so weird now. I dunno if Hasbro has the capacity to schedule another run of these in timely manner. I do know that a lot of manufacturing is fully booked for months, if not years. It's crazy, but I hear things are getting better on that end.

Per today's GI Joe media round table, Hasbro is still figuring out the future of O-ring. That's not a vote of confidence considering we're only 6 months away from 2023 and zero 2023 product has been unveiled.
I'll now greatly temper expectations. |
