Yeah this, folks. Also don't forget that Hasbro underproduced Classified because they weren't sure on how well it'd sell, and they didn't want to burden stores with a ton of product that wouldn't move. Now a combination of people buying it all up(even Roadblock never sticks around here in Portland), production just starting to catch up to demand, and an immense backlog of shipping and logistics due to COVID is why we still haven't seen Classified(and Transformers actually) plentiful anywhere

Wave one suffered from distribution issues more than anything else in my opinion. I have two Walmart in my area that I don't believe ever received the 1st wave. Yet a third had multiple restocks that would linger a couple days before selling out only to be restock a week or so later. I was able to get 3 of the store displays from this one location.

Walmart also isn't good about its own distribution, one store can carry a line while another doesn't. Walmart has NEVER had the consistency that Target and other retailers generally have. So, again, it's hard to peg down to an issue with Classified..or just Walmart's usual distribution shenanigans. That has been a thing for almost 20 years at this point.

This is kinda funny because now all the stores are loaded with the movie figures, wave 1 Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow & Baroness. And they don't seem to be moving at all, not even the 1 per case Baroness.

The line is very popular. Order them online, or you probably won't see them. The world is changing. Stores have no interest in toys sitting on shelves. Look at how little target ordered of exclusives tge first run. They would rather sell them all pre order before letting them sit for 2 weeks. |

Probably like Star Wars Black Series Wave 1, I'm guessing they were feeling the water to see if there was a market. Everyone said they'd never buy 6" Star Wars, and then Maul and Luke were impossible to find.
And everyone said they'd never buy 6" Joes and I've never seen any of them at retail except Roadblock and Cobra Commander. |

They probably didn't make enough of Wave 1 just to test the market. I see Lady J, Flint, Cobra Commander and to some degree, Zartan, warming pegs up here in Canada at TRU and Gamestop.

Actually yeah I did see Lady Jaye and Flint last weekend. The only two I've purchased so far are Red Ninja and Zartan, and haven't seen them in stores. The Snake Eyes movie wave is starting to fill shelves here now... 3 months too late. No Akiko though.

I don't know whether it had much of an impact, but you can actually find wave 1 in Australia, so maybe Hasbro actually tested the waters with distributing GI Joe overseas and that may have affected the stock availability in the US.
