I didn’t miss out on the POC/30/50th. I have a lot of them. Well 3 of those officer exclusives. I buy every retro trooper and officer I see. . I like both styles for different reasons

Regardless as to who they're made for or who this line is geared towards - which seems more the internet merchant or scalper than anything else. But parents would still buy and give these to their kids to play with as they once did or the kid would want them cause they may look cool. Now whether or not kids today would appreciate their figures who knows. Lanard and the Fornite are the only comparable and scaled figures that are commonly found on the aisles for kids to enjoy.
My point was mainly that the average kid would not be as careful with them as the average collector/displayer would and they'd be more prone to breakage or lost legs. The webgear seems less likely to be lost but the weapons are of a bendy and cheaper plastic like the webgear which are prone to tearing and stress. The Cobra bazooka also has the scope lightly glued on and molded separately, to where this lil thing would easily break off and get lost. These newer molded figures are not as rugged as the 25th-early Retro style figure design was overall. Oddly enough the Retro re-design Fang is pretty rugged compared to the 25th version but the figure is cheap trash, lol. |

These figures break very easily. I have some of the retro figures for my daughter to play with and a few of them have broken rather quickly and easily. And she's not even rough on them... However she doesn't have any of the new molds except the Fang pilot and oddly enough he's held up really well (once I fixed his arm with the ole water trick).

I buy them too. Have not seen many though. See a whole lot of stalkers though. Wonder why no one wants him compared to the others though. However, he seemed to hit really hard for some reason unlike other waves. The poc/50th molds of this guy think are the best ever though and these guys don't even come close. They don't look bad mixed in though. That fang pilot screams Resident Evil to me for some reason.
On another note I don't think these figures are meant to be played with. I think Hasbro put these out knowing the main market for them would be collectors. Their poseable abilities say to me Hiya due to how easy they break. I wouldn't buy these for my kids if they wanted joes to play with. I would give them old 25th figures. Quote:
Right?
I've wondered this, even since wave 1. But regarding trooper and officer, I've sense more not-hate than love from those who really don't like them. I don't love them, l love the POC versions, but I don't regret buying one or two Retros at MSRP and would stock up if they ended up at clearance price from shelfwarming (which they won't).

Packaging is everything to me. Passed on the others but the Retro artwork is even better than the 25th.

My main Cobra Trooper and Officer armies are based off the POC/30th anniversary ones but I like these new ones as well. I have 2 Troopers and hope to get one Officer.

The Fang pilot is actually one of greatest culprits of breaking apart soon after opening the package and having fused joints. Anyway there is always risks with the plastics used on action figures no matter the decade or style, but the point is the newer style Retro figures are a lot cheaper made and a lot more prone to breakage. Due to cheaper plastics , design-build flaws and likely Vietnam factory quality control a contributing factor as well. |

But the Troopers are still better than the Fang Pilot's left elbow. J saw several reviewers break that. The troopers feel more sklid than that but still not as strkng as previous modern figures.
