The subject of what is/isn't a doll and all that aside, I feel the same, as far as Joe is concerned. I'm only really into 4" and have only been gathering Classified for another 'tanker. That may change if we get some classic-inspired figures, but so far, they're just not for me. On the other hand, I think Marvel works best in the 6" scale, the few 4" I've had just don't satisfy me. Star Wars is a weird one- I've seen both modern scales hanging on shelves, and I really feel that either scale works well.

Guys, just checked a second Target in the area and they too said the exclusive action figures (other than Clone Wars) will be behind the customer service desk. May 23 is what they said at this one too. Again grain of salt this but it’s two different Target stores with the same info. Good hunting fellas!

Good that it will limit them to one per person, bad that people may not k ow to or want to ask. Worth a shot though. I don’t know how that affects employees hoarding them though. Both Targets did say there are no holds either in advance or over the phone. Your mileage may vary with that however.

YMMV. Just came back from the Target and asked someone behind the CS counter. He was pretty young and unhelpful. I gave him the benefit of a doubt as it sounded like he was probably asked a few hundred times today but goddamn it I'm not feeling good about this. After I asked I just went to find another employee for another DPCI check. Still doesn't seem they're in Portland Metro/Vancouver area.

I had no idea this was going on. Friday night my ten year old son asked if he could go get some Pokemon cards with a gift card he had. He's collected them on and off but it had been some time since he showed any interest in it, so it was odd. But he said he had some Charizard that could be worth some money and he was trading with friends at school. I was like, sure, whatever, when I was that age I thought someday I'd retire on the profits of a 1989 Upperdeck Ken Griffey Jr rookie. So anyway, we went to our Target and I was stunned to see the card section completely barren. I honestly didn't think card collecting was that big anymore because the prices kind of made it something kids wouldn't want to collect. Certainly at that age I couldn't pay that much for packs and accumulate enough to actually enjoy it. But he seemed a bit disappointed so I told him we'd drive to another Target that was about fifteen minutes down the thruway, and when we got there around 9 PM there were maybe a dozen or so single packs on the pegs and a younger man and woman looking at them. So my son waited a minute, and then an older guy came over and started handling them. This seemed weird to me to see people this interested in them, but eventually my son picked out three packs he had enough money for and we went to the self checkout. When we scanned a second pack the register beeped and the screen had a quantity error or something on it and a cashier came over and said that the Pokemon cards were a limit of one pack per person. I was like, really? I was kind of surpised and annoyed, so we checked out separately so he could at least get two packs. I felt odd having to give the cashier back the third pack like a criminal or something.
I guess it makes some sense due to the pandemic that people would be stuck at home and looking for things to do. I think my son just likes trading with his friends at school. I don't even think they actually play the games.I don't know what cards are good, I know Charizards are supposedly, and I know characters only from the video games he has and the movie, but it kind of sucks to see another kids thing that might be getting ruined by scalpers and speculators. I've been a to Targets since, and I make a notice to look at the card section and besides some Magic cards they're always empty. No one likes Magic? In fact, one Target just spread out their gift cards on the pegs so at least it isn't just an empty section. I guess we should count ourselves as lucky we actually found any cards that night. I haven't seen any since. So that was my recent Pokemon experience. I don't collect the six inch line, the Cobra Island stuff turned me completely off from even trying. It was nice of a company to give me a reason to not even bother. If I ever come across Bludd I'll pick him up for anyone here, though at my Targets it seems like if you don't wait around for the store to open you aren't getting anything. I actually stopped going to them mostly, but with the Clone Wars figures coming out I'll probably stop in a little more often now. |

I was told the 18th today and that only high value cards are being kept at CS desk. This is a smaller mall Target.

Thus on the 18th hour of the 18th day of the 18th month, a Bludd Bath shall soak the earth.
