I know back in the Oring days it was common to mix Corps and similar toylines in with the Joes. I collect 4 inch scale so have to been forced to look elsewhere for stuff to add to my Joe shelves and it got me curious what other toylines people collect to add to their 25th/ME, Oring, or Classified displays. What other toylines do you have unofficially in your Joeverse?
Here's stuff I display on my shelves alongside the Joes that aren't official GI Joe products fill that same purpose in my display: -MacFarlane Cobra Battle Snake as a Cobra robot -Marvel Legends What If Hydra Stomper as a Joe Robot -Dozens of Jazzwares 4" Fortnite figures -Some Jurassic World figures as citezins and scientists -Good ole Chap Mei, Joyin, True Heroes, and Power Team Elite vehicles -Final Faction vehicles, accessories, and the even the buglike aliens for my Cobra La section of the shelf. This question is not confined to one Joe scale, So Classified, Oring, Super 7, and ME collectors (Even 12 inch and Sigma six feel free to chime in) what other Toylines hang out alongside your Joes and Cobras? Well I haven't "played" with them since I was a kid, I've been a carded / boxed collector since the 90's. But, I do recall using the Adventure People space shuttle with my Joes, and some of the Star Wars sets like Land of the Jawas and the Probot Hoth set, for desert and snow battles.
It was in those early Joe ARAH years, when it was still in it's infancy, but we all had a ton of Star Wars and Empire vehicles and sets lying around. By 1984, we didn't need that shit - Joe and Cobra had an extensive amount of figure, vehicles and playsets. 1984 was the year it really blew up, and I was pretty much done with collecting anything else at least until TMNT popped up. I have a lot of those Walmart Adventure force trucks.
If you go down the toy aisle, you'll see em. They're these generic Fords and some years they have jeeps and stuff alongside some of our old inherited Duke of Hazard cars sitting in our house. For classified I have a Batmobeast ready for the Dreanoks. I also have a repainted Barbie Lamborghini because apparently as silly as that sounds, that works. Some RC 1/12 vehicles too. But man, Classified scale vehicles are not easy to find.

If I'm going for a Joe-centric theme with a crossover with other properties I go with Captain America, Red Skull, Black Widow, Madame Hydra, Baron Strucker, and Baron Zemo. Oftentimes I just display figures from my favorite IPs all together Marvel Heroes, DC Heroes, Transformers, GI Joe, etc.

Well, I don't really have "mixed in" per se, but as an o-ring collector, I'm thirsty as fuck to collect SOMETHING, so I've been dipping more into the 4" World of Nintendo stuff, and picking up Jada's excellent Street Fighter line as they come out (in on Mega Man when they drop, too). Really, I'm just waiting to see what Super7 does. I have been considering starting in on MOTU Origins, but I've yet to pull the trigger.

My Springfield shelf is mostly Playmobil, eventually it will be lighted, IDGAF.
I have Ertl Wrangler and Fall Guy O-rings mixed in with my joes, along with Corps Construction and WOW! Girls. I'm a world builder and will use anything that I like as long as it's O-ring.

He's not there, yet... but once I get the Hiya 1/12 John Rambo, he'll go in with my Joes.

I love the chap Mei M&C Toys vehicles. They really make my collection more modern military. I have chinooks, Black hawks, F18s tanks and trucks. Wish they were easier to get hold of especially the Osprey

I have a complete collection of 1982-1994 o-ring Joes. To go with them, I also have the following o-rings on diplay:
Bronze Bombers Street Fighter & Mortal Kombat movie tie-in lines Eagle Force R.I.O.T. Commandos Power Commandos Unifighters Select Lanard Corps sub-groups (S.T.A.R. Force, Lazer Force, and Bio-Wing Battle Squadron) A modest selection of various Black Major army builders Latest addition: Strike Force Alpha Although not o-ring, I also have great fondness for the Bionic Six and Jonny Quest toy lines, which are both compatible in scale. I have complete collections for both. |
