Classified IS the collector line, and so is Retro. And no, Hasbro is NOT trying to kill off GI Joe. Classified and Retro are selling very well and Hasbro's team is doing a good job of trying to keep up with demand and please the fans (changing colors, answering questions etc.)
I hope they get there and I'm loving Classified over all, but demand is definitely outstripping supply.

While some hardcore purists may argue that Snake Eyes was only a Commando in 1982, ninjas have nevertheless been intergral to the G.I. Joe mythos since Storm Shadow was introduced in 1984. Complaining about ninjas and sci-fi in G.I. Joe is to willfully ignore the brand's history. Last edited by Josh Z; 04-15-2021 at 04:04 PM.. |

Your positivity is infectious, but I'm not sure the team has done a good job keeping up with demand. The product is extremely rare right now, with waves being very widely spaced out and not generally available shortly after shipping (even the redeco wave 1 figures aren't really in stock at too many places, much less Zartan or the Infantry).
I hope they get there and I'm loving Classified over all, but demand is definitely outstripping supply.

This is what I don't understand at all. I understand some of the retailer distribution issues but unless Hasbro has run out of plastic, we should be able to order (*not* pre-order) almost every one of these already released figures from Pulse right now. Like I should be able to sign in and place an order for 4 Cobra Infantry figures and have them shipped within a few days. Maybe now is not the time for that but by the end of this year, that should be possible. If it isn't then somebody doesn't have a clue what they're doing in the Hasbro chain of command. That or the world really has run out of plastic. Or every boat ever is stuck in a canal somewhere.
That being said, there should be more opportunities to order or preorder these Classified figures than there have been so far.

Hopefully the supply issues become better. I recently started toy hunting again after a 12-year hiatus. I found the HISS and AWE in store but haven't seen a 4" figure in two months of very frequent looking. That money has gone to Halo and Fortnite figures. C'mon, Hasbro. Take my money. |

If Hasbro Pulse is better-stocked than brick and mortar retail and other big e-retail outlets, then Hasbro is no longer a partner to the retailers, but a direct competitor, and that would be a sure-fire way to tank the entire company with a quickness. |

Hasbro Pulse is never going to have effectively unlimited stocks of everything Hasbro makes (and never has), and there's a relatively simple reason for it:

In other words, Hasbro gets its' money whether the product ends up in our hands, rots in a distribution center, gets stuck on a boat somewhere, or even gets shipped straight to Ross or Marshall's or TJ Maxx. In most cases, "we" are not Hasbro's direct customers. The retailers are. We may be the end consumer, but we're not the paying customer (to Hasbro). Also, bare shelves means the available product has sold, so....kind of defeating your own point there. Could they sell more? Maybe, but retailers don't care if a Scalper wipes out two cases of GI Joe Classified in one trip or if 2-4 legit collectors divvy them up or Mary-Jo Soccermom managed to get a Snake-Eyes for her kid or whatever. Just that the product sold. If shelves are clogged up with every Joe you could want, whenever you want, you have a massively pegwarming line. Last edited by Jmacq1; 04-16-2021 at 10:10 AM.. |

The future of these types of figures is to be sold directly to collectors. That's why Pulse exists in the first place. Even Walmart and Target seem to have sort of acknowledged it with their laughable collectors' pages on their main website.
I'm very curious how Masterverse will be sold. Walmart and Target's collector pages, laughable as they may be, are not "selling directly to collectors." That's still going through the retailers. Pulse is just one more outlet, and once again, I guarantee you if Pulse was better stocked than anyone else, Hasbro would soon be having some very uncomfortable conversations with every other retailer (brick and mortar OR electronic) they sell to.
