All I want to know is if my anger pre-order will be cancelled again so I can be angry somewhere else if need be.

These are Retro Line Questions:
1. We understand not putting much money towards new tooling, and using existing parts for this line. Why did you chose to use 25th parts for some figures (i.e. Duke) when there are updated parts from the POC line and latter that have better proportions than the 25th parts. The figures that use mainly 25th parts do not have the same "group look" when compared with the figures that use more updated parts. What was the barrier to having all the figures using newer parts? Those tools are not available, or you have to follow a certain part grouping when choosing parts? |

I know. I just want to know if they considered using other parts.

Truthfully, what do some of these people want Hasbro to do?
They've made more Classified figures, even changing existing figures to pacify the "color is BAD" crowd. While they've yet to announce reruns on Cobra Island, they didn't do so when fan channel venues started taking preorders on reruns of other Target Transformers items (like this one ). So there is certainly precedent for Target stuff being reran for fan channels. Hasbro can't snap their figures and suddenly makes stores order piles of GI Joe (regardless of scale). They can't fix international shipping and distribution. They can't stop greedy scalpers (or COLLECTORS) from clearing out stores on a daily basis. They can't change the current retail market which doesn't favor doing stuff "like in the 80s". They can't stop Paramount from delaying their feature films (though, at least SE was justifiable and early enough for Hasbro to adapt...leading to a relative shortage of retail product last fall). There are dozens, if not hundreds, of questions that could be asked and garner a passable or decent answer. But if the Facebook section shows anything? It's how immature the GI Joe fanbase is, and how they're more worried about "getting my toys NOW NOW NOW" than anything else. I think it's absolutely fair when it comes to the Cobra Island issue when fans are very upset and irritated about it. I'm in Portland, OR. Me and the group of Transformers guys were all actively looking for Cobra Island as most of us missed out on the pre-order periods. As far as we know one or two Baroness were found in Portland...I was lucky enough to get one of them. A handful of Beachheads were found, and as far as I know no Troopers ever hit the 5 Targets that we have out here. Hell, Roadblock supposedly shelfwarmed but none of us saw him here either. We're an active state group that helps each other out for not just Transformers, but for that short period Joes, and also Marvel Legends and Hot Wheels. We span as far as Tigard and Salem and even out in the boonies of Eastern Oregon. So few of us if at all saw anything Cobra Island related, and if we did it was maybe one or two. That's just Wave 1. Wave 2 was even worse as even fewer of us saw any Vipers...me and one other being the only known Oregon group members, and there were no Fireflies in Portland as far as I know. I think there were some in Tigard as a mall reseller store stil has their Firefly for sale there. I know that we don't represent every collector in Oregon. But we do represent a rather connected crowd that is around for most hours of the day collectively that covers nearly every Target and Walmart in the metropolitan areas of the state. For many of us we just want some kind of word from Hasbro that this is being worked on, especially considering that it didn't even improve despite Hasbro saying improvement would be found come Wave 2. I personally don't want to be buying any figure that lacks accessories in comparison to the Cobra Island figures, so personally I'm pretty interested in knowing if it's even in the cards. I want to know whether or not it's even worth my time to continue to follow the line when I could be focused on other things. You're right that Hasbro can't change a lot of those factors such as store ordering, scalpers and collectors. But what they can do at the very least is throw up stuff for pre-order on Pulse. When you build a site that the very company claims is for the fans, then any excuse I see is slim at best. If we can't look to Pulse as the last bastion of actually being able to get these sought after figures, then what's the point? Ideally Hasbro could say, "Well expect them to come to Pulse" or something along those lines and I'm sure a huge swath of the Joe collecting population would be much happier and at ease.
