Well our Target did it's Aug reset this past week. And today was the first day they stocked the target exclusives.
I picked up the Air Assult glider with Grand Slam and the Arashikage Cycle with Snake Eyes. (( as stated in another thread)) Grand slam that came with it is a very nice figure. I like the dark green and the slight blueish armor bits on him. What might be lost in pics on line, is the amount of small detail paint aps AROUND the armor. It's all trimmed in black. Small detail work but it's there which is nice when you have it in hand. It's a very nice redo of the original. The helmet doesn't stay on exceptionally well but will grip if you get it just right. The gun is a remake of Spearheads, but was always one of my faves so I don't mind that. The pistol in the boot is a nice touch. The glider......eh.. I'm playin' mine as an UFV. Sort of like a Predator or a Reaper. It's not horrid.... I mostly got it for the figure so I could have a "New" version of the first joes and liked the mold and colors. the glider is ok. I can see how kids would really like this. Adult collectors can use it as an Unmanned Flying Vehicle. Over all I much prefer the figure to the glider but for $10, you get a decent repaint cheepo vehicle and a decent figure. The Arashikage Cycle with Snake eyes..... Ehh...... what was said for the other set but more so. The Snake eyes is a nice one. He's got the bblacck top, arms and head (( Different from other 'movie' snake eyes. More like the older style)), but this one had some of the gray urban/almost digital RoC cammo BDU pants and combat boots. It's a look I really liked for Snake eyes, and the main reason I picked up the exclusive. The figure is nice. I reallly like it. It's understated, but not just all black, and to me it looks sort of like a 'Training snake eyes' or a day to day outfit, instead of full out ninja/commando gear he'd wear out into battle. I can see SE in the pit, doing training in this stuff. Good fig. comes with his uzi, bayonet, and the scimitar/eagle head sword that I very much like for Snakes. Good deal. I approve of teh figure. I like the head used a bit better than the "glass visor" RoC snake eyes head. I love the BDU pants on him ((between snake eyes of old and the upcoming resolute fig I'm just DIEING to get)). So I love the fig of this set. the bike...... Sucks. Sorry but it sucks. hard. It feels like a burger king toy. Honestly. I got a toy from RoC burger king stuff the other day and this cycle feels to be of the same quality and make. It's misshapen, small. Crappy. I'd give it to my 6 year old but he just might shoot the cat with the crappy rocket launcher. This set, the figure is very nice. But...buy it for the figure. not the bike.... it so so soooooo bad. Thankfully the figs are $8 now... so if you buy this at $10 it's not TOO bad. I had a $2 off coupon to target so.... I'm chalking this up to Snake eyes at normall $8 price point and bike to... I don't know.... break just to break something? Uggg... bike sucks.

I'll try and get some pics tomorrow. Camera cable is all zip tied and threaded in with my desk top cables and cords and I'm on the laptop for the evening.
I appreciate that target paid money to get the exclusives and as a collector I could get these figs in my collection. They're good figures. The glider isn't even that bad. for $2 it's dang good. The bike is just poop though. I don't feel bad paying money for the set. the exclusive fig is worth a bit more ..but I'd have much preferred..... pretty much anything else to the bike.

Like you, I am a fig collector though. I am more interested in the pic of the fig then the bike. Matter of fact I'll probably give the bike to my neighbor's 3 year old. He'll love it even if I hate it. Did the fig come with a stand and acc. or just the bike?

I totally disageree. I picked this up the other day and am very happy with the bike. The color scheme is awesome, fig and vehicle go together seamlessly. How it feels in my hand means absolutely nothing to me, Im not on the floor playing with it, im displaying it, and it looks sweat with SE riding it sword in air. It would be different if it was falling apart or something, but for its size it doesnt come off as cheap to me. Yeah the missle launcher sucks, as do the rest of them in this line but again, Im not firing the missles because Im displaying it. And if I was a kid playing with it I would probably like the missle launcher. Useless for us collectors, but cool for a kid.
I've got all 4 of the deluxe target figs/vehicles so far, and I am very happy with them. As far as I am concerned all the 'vehicles' so far are worth the extra $2 bucks. Just my opinion. |

So you were able to use a $2 Target coupon on this item? The one I got in the mail said for any "GI Joe action figure" but I wasn't sure if it just meant the single figures or anything GI Joe.

Got the Eel and Wave Runner. I agree the pack-in vehicles aren't the best, but it's a nice bonus for the price. I wouldn't mind seeing more small, light attack craft packed in like this. Maybe a decent movie Zartan with the real Swamp Skier.

I'm not sure if it'll work on "anything GI JOE" but it DID work on the target exclusive bike or glider. (( didn't see which one it actually took off of. Just that the price dropped by $2.)) They were the only GI joe things I grabbed today so it had to be one of um.
