Some reasons that made me get back into buying and collecting action figures.
Nostalgia I guess plus its that buying and collecting action figures of either G.I. Joe or Star Wars makes you happy and see what you bought with your money. Plus there are certain figures that I never had when I was a little kid and that some of my figures that I used to have they disappeared mysteriously when moving to a different town. Back in the late 1990s for Star Wars when the special editions came out I missed out on alot of stuff but the last figure I bought was the Bespin Luke and that was it. Then I just lost interest I guess. But since last year or the year before I got back into star wars action figures and for G.I. Joe I kept getting impressed with the 25th anniversary figures and I need to get them before they stop selling. So far I have the comic two pack Destro and Breaker which I bought for 3.75 during our downtown Crazy Days special going on. I should have bought an extra pack such as the Cobra twins or the crimson guard with the scarface cobra officer. So for you guys what are some reasons that made you get interested all over again for the action figures or any kind of stuff? |

I was living with my girlfriend at the time and her brother was a big Star Wars collector, he collected MOC. He moved in with us for a bit and we got to talking and he showed me a site he got stuff off of, Brian's Toys, and I saw some new G.I. Joe stuff.
The girlfriend (now ex) said to get it and the rest is history.

Never really left. I slowed down for a while in high school but it was really the Simpsons World of Springfield toy line that got me really into collecting toys for display.
No matter how hard I try to stop there is always a figure somewhere that will pull me back in, probably using nostalgia. |

Becoming a parent. Our son is too young now, but in a couple years I look forward to getting him into the cartoons. Then I'll give him the figures I've been slowly collecting over the past few months. I hate the idea of it just being Movie Figures from now on, so I'm getting the Classic Figures while I can.
Man, I wish I would have saved all my Joes from my childhood days. I had so many. I had the Terror Drome... I won't let our son make the same mistake. We're gonna keep 'em. |

never did stop collecting transformers or robotech i stopped collecting joes in the 90ies i was almost lured back by valor vs venom leather neck with mech but i said no no maybe but it was to late but i did get a cobra mech then again with the dtc's but i said no no no(which i ended up buying for th 25th line at a much higher price), while i did buy my nephew the bigger sigma 6 figs i wasn't really into them but the 2.5 vehicles went so well with the transformers alternators and looked really cool i bought some and that was the crack in the wall, then one day my brother called and ask if i could get the twins which i could but it was part of a lot of 80 joes for 80 bucks in that lot was everyone from the 84/85 line i still felt that it was a one shot deal i went to the store for packing tape and just stopped by the toy isle to check to see if tf inferno was out when low and behold i saw the 25th line and the wall crumbled. i will be stopping soon i just want to get couple more things and then i'm done at that point i will have the joe/cobra armies that i have always wanted also i picked up helix today
