Regarding holding on to brick and mortar, it's part nostalgia and part endorphine-high that keeps the brick and mortar hunters hunting. However, the internet has been popular since the 90's and it's not a fad or a collector's cop-out. I totally get the thrill of the hunt perspective but when these people come ONLINE to complain about not find anything OFFLINE when they can easily be obtained ONLINE is equivalent to going into Walmart where there are tons of Destros and complaining aloud to everyone how disappointing it is that Target doesn't have any Destros and then leaving Walmart empty handed.

If you're triggered by fast pre-order sellouts, high aftermarket prices and empty shelves at Target and Walmart, then this is definitely the wrong hobby for you.

I have found Cobra Island to be so very obnoxious precisely because I cannot lock in a guaranteed online pre-order and await delivery. Target sure wants to keep pretending it is 1991 with their marketing strategies. And Target’s problems are not exclusive to this line, they just want to sell toys in a manner that benefits scalpers. Ref NECA cartoon TMNT.
Everything else about this line has been smooth. I am getting all the Red Ninjas I wanted delivered this week. SSCC arrives next week. Hasbro even gave a very limited second chance at 00. Anyone failing to buy the standard figures probably qualifies for a disability check from the government. |

True dat. Modern collecting is preorder collecting. It doesn't matter if it sucks or if it's sad for you. Manufacturers and retailers save A LOT of money when they know how many products are going to sell before they have to ship anything by air, sea or land. Filling up store shelves and hoping they sell was invented back when the Lone Ranger needed sarsaparilla and ranch style beans from the general store...maybe even before that. Walking around in stores and looking for figures should be considered a supplement to your collecting; not your main tool.

I’m unloading my Wave 1 figures on eBay if anyone’s interested.
