My favorite so far out of all of these is the Classified Tomahawk. That is one of my all-time favorite vehicles. And the addition of Lift-Ticket and Wild Bill could be cool as Stretch goal rewards!

This would be amazing. I'd back that in a second. Maybe something like the littoral class ships (USS Independence). Kind of futuristic but real world. I think that could be compressed into something a little bigger than the Moray as you suggested. Just make the bridge windows larger and it could keep the same proportions. Lift off bridge roof and flight deck to access the interiors? That'd be so fun.

Without any sort of mainline 4" at retail, I don't think a 4" Joe Haslab is likely anytime soon. So we're probably looking at something for Classified. If that's the case, what I would most like to see is the full OG13 in classic decos and on retro cardbacks. Stick 'em all in some kind of foldout box that looks like the cartoon exterior of the Pit or something.
Here's the thing, we're unlikely to ever get them *all* at the retail level, period. And even if we did, store exclusives and the generally poor distribution we've already seen would make getting all 13 a giant pain in the ass. Maybe the decos don't look as cohesive if they're spread out over 2-3 years, who knows. There's a lot that could go sideways. Retail on 13 figures is $260+. $300-350 seems reasonable for all 13 in fancy packaging, keeping it in line with the Sentinel and Razorcrest which hit their goal quickly. Maybe throw in Sparks and/or General Flagg as a stretch goal. Plus, a whole lot of people are going to buy at least two sets, making it even easier to reach whatever the minimum is. |

I don't see a USS Flagg being possible even for HasLab, the original was 7'6" long and cost over $100 in 1985. A Classified version of that would stretch around 14' long and cost at least $1000. On the other hand I think the Tomahawk would be a great choice along with Lift Ticket, though at the rate HasLab is going it might end up being the HISS tank or the Dragonfly.

In terms of 6”, I’m with Dreadnok Twins and Dr Venom in thinking that less-friendly-to-mass-retail figures are more appealing than 12th scale vehicles. Dreadnoks and OG13 both seem like good choices, although some figures in each of those categories deserve wide release, meaning that it might take some thought.
82 style Snake Eyes, Scarlett, and Stalker (hopefully on vintage style cards) and Sunbow Zartan and Zarana especially seem like offerings that must not be limited to the small set of people that can afford HasLab projects. So would you make those five as regular releases and then offer a HasLab supplement? Or would the draw for the sets evaporate without the most desirable figures (for most, anyway) being exclusive? Can the dilemma be solved with packaging and extra accessories? Or some other way? |

Classified scale USS Flagg. Would be the size of a bus.
And we'd all still buy it, except for maybe JJ ;-) |

So would you make those five as regular releases and then offer a HasLab supplement? Or would the draw for the sets evaporate without the most desirable figures (for most, anyway) being exclusive? Classic figures at retail would come in the standard size box but with retro explosion artwork inside and out. They could then rerelease SE, Stalker and Scarlett at retail down the line, maybe with ever so slightly different/less premium, deco. But if you want them on the even more retro cardbacks, the Haslab project is the only way to go. There's some level of precedent for this in that the Sail Barge came with a POTF Yak-Face, where the cardback was the draw. The figure inside was AFAIK identical to the retail release a couple of years earlier. I agree those main characters shouldn't be locked completely behind a Haslab paywall. I wouldn't go much beyond those three though. If you really just want Breaker or Short-Fuze, but not all 13 for some reason, you'll have to snag one from resellers who bought multiples and are breaking up the set. |
