I’ve decided to go all in on this line. This is my first time collecting toys as an adult. I’ve collected graded comics for years but due to a variety of factors (CVOID, boredom, expense) I just couldn’t justify keeping them so I pretty much sold them all (175+) this year. I’ve stalked the Marvel Legends and MOTU Classics line for awhile but I could never pull the trigger. I’m a bit of a completionist and it just seemed too little to late.
I’ve managed to get everything released so far but I had to use the aftermarket and it definitely wasn’t as cost effective as it could be. Hopefully I’ll be able to avoid some of that in the future. With all of that said, what should I expect in terms of output and annual cost with the Classified line? I realize that it’s just speculation at this point but I’m sure someone here has a lot more knowledge and experience with comparable toy lines (SW Black, MOTU Classics, Marvel Legends, etc). Figurelist.co states that 20 figures were released in the first year of Marvel Legends. 160 released in 2019. Will I eventually be swimming in these things? The Baroness figure is great but I’m a little concerned with the introduction of vehicles. I can already see the eventual revamped 7’ USS Flagg sitting in the corner of my closet... and my wife saying WTF Last edited by andhuck; 09-08-2020 at 06:24 PM.. |

Well, its all going to come down to the overall success of the brand. I don't see the output ever matching Star Wars or Marvel, or even Transformers, because those brands have a wider appeal and a far deeper fan base. But I do see the line expanding significantly just based on the speed with which they've consistently sold out.

I dont think this line is going to have the juice to get vehicles any larger than a motorcycle or flight pod. Star Wars does have a few vehicles in this scale and I think the biggest is the Snow Speeder, retailing for about 150. I dont know if I would pay 150 for a 1/12 VAMP or HISS or where I would put it.

I'd be surprised if you saw more than 20 Classified figures in 2021.
