Seeing the Lifeline and Tomax/Xamot threads, I started wondering about Alpine. Here's a great character, with a huge following, unique tooling and was barely distributed. So how's about it Hasbro? Add Quickkick while you're at it. A Hall of Heroes type version would be an awesome solution for those worried about uniqueness/collectorish issues.

I'm sure both will see re-release on single cards or as part of a two-pack in some odd wave down the road.
I had Quick Kick but had to trade him off. I'm all for nostalgia and memories but his character is just ridiculous. I don;t know about him int he comics, but his introduction in the Sunbow series is all I see. An Asian-American actor filming a cookie bar commercial in the arctic blizzard in his ninja gear with no shirt or foot protection of any kind. I'm sure the Sunbow series was produced in the Dairy State given the ammount of cheese it had in it, but Quick Kick takes the cake for me. Alpine was hoaky too, but in a cool way. Any guy who can add some soul to a yodel is good in my book.

I feel very confident Alpine will see re-release as part of a POC wave.
He'd actually be a good one for the TRU line like the Snow Serpent. Just darken the colors of his uniform from the lighter cartoon shades. |

If it's any consolation, neither Quick Kick or Alpine played heavily into the comics.

There's a large part of me that would rather Hasbro actually just put back out the Best of '80s pack with proper distribution this time!

Maybe we'll get a Hall of Heroes 2 next year, no votes fro the previous figures and ole Alpine will be an option to vote for. That would be a great way to keep the 25th style ARAH figures going. Lord knows I would like to a retooled proper Duke and better Gung-Ho.
