There looks to be a running change going on with the Classified Snake Eyes: initial releases had a knife that wouldn't fit correctly in the sheath, while newer runs have a knife that does seat properly. I think it's time we figure out what that difference actually is so we can fix it on early production run figures without resorting to a dremel and guesswork!
I want pictures of the knife and sheath from both versions of the figures; which one has been changed? Have both? Is it an alteration to the mold, extra trimming being done when the parts are cut from the runners, or something else entirely? If y'all could snap pics of your SE knife & sheath, I know we can come up with an easy fix to get all of our figures in proper shape. I'll be doing the same once mine arrives on on Monday, and make sure any fix(es) we come up with gets added to this post so nobody has to dredge through a thread to find the info they need.

I heard that the knife sheath from the Pulse exclusive (# 00) fits correctly. I haven't opened mine up to check though. I'm still debating if I should keep it sealed since it's such a nice presentation overall.
If that is true, then it may not be detectable from the outside molding. It could have been a processing error during injection molding as opposed to a tooling error. Last edited by sharky; 08-01-2020 at 09:01 AM.. |

Yeah, that version fits, it's the retail one that has the issue.

So is this running change real? I might as well go look for another Snake Eyes then! |

There appears to be an extra glob of plastic in the sheath that I had to cut out to get the knife to fit correctly. I took the entire piece off and used a hobby knife to cut out a chunk from the backside. I didn't take any pics before I made the fix, but in this first one you can see the darker, rougher area that is where the extra plastic was. It was not especially difficult to cut it out, and when put back on SE you can't see what I removed because it sits against his leg.

Well then, at least we know it's the sheath and not the knife that's the problem, which is a start. My SE doesn't have the knife issue so I still don't have an idea exactly what's going on with the ones that do.

I got both my snake eyes from Pulse. 00 has no knife issues, the common version does. I thought the issue was with my figure alone. That's crazy.

I just drilled that piece off on mine so the knife would fit.

Does anyone have any documentation? How far the knife sticks out, or if the obstructing material looks like it's from flashing or made for a differently shaped knife or...?
