Not to be antagonistic, but these discussions always make me smile. The definition of the GI Joe brand has ALWAYS been about adapting to the scale preferences of the day. A-L-W-A-Y-S. 1/12 is the scale of right now. It is dominating every facet of the adult action figure industry. 1/18 is - for all intents and purposes - out of the spotlight. I'd argue it's even behind 1/6. That isn't a value judgement - it's objective consumer and designer preference. About 6 years ago (yikes, time flies) 4 Horsemen decided to change Mythic Legions from 1/18 to 1/12. Their last Kickstarter made about USD 1 million. Yes, ARAH has its roots in 1/18 - not ever going to dispute that. But we want the brand back and if it was ever going to have a fighting chance in this current market it HAD to come back in 1/12. If it was ever going to win over non-Joe collectors, it HAD to come back in 1/12. Please don't act like this is some permanent decision either. Toy companies will always do what they think will move the most units/make them the most money. 1/12 will leave the spotlight one day. For something bigger? For something smaller? I can't say. We'll have to wait and see. 1/12 is the direction right now and for a guy that has been dying to see ARAH back in the public consciousness, I'll take it.
