Released in May 2024 and designed and packaged to be used alongside the Cobra H.I.S.S. Tank and Fire Team 788 3-pack, the Cobra HISS Techno-Viper comes with a newly tooled Classified Cobra vehicle/weapons post that is inspired by the classic-era MMS (as well as the Cobra SMS and MSV). The HISS Techno-Viper in this set is a straight repaint of the recent regular Techno-Viper (#117), but with the special and unique HISS deco featuring red, black and dark gray. Once you have the HISS, the Fire Team and this HMS together, it truly is an amazing diorama/toy centerpiece to set-up and play with or photograph for hours. The HMS has working wheels, swivels and rotates and also features a tow hitch that can be used with the HISS (or perhaps a future Cobra vehicle? HINT HINT, WINK WINK).
The Cobra HISS Techno-Viper comes packed with the following weapons and accessories: H.M.S. (Heetseeking Missile System), an electrical power pack pack (which can stow his three power tools), a pulse rifle, an electric cable hose (which attaches to the rifle and backpack), a pistol, (3) power tools - a power wrench, a power claw and a power hammer (all of which can attach to the cable and can also be stored in his backpack) and a HUD holographic readout projection (that attaches to his wrist gauntlet armor). Note that his two wrist gauntlets can also be removed easily. Using the poll options, rate the figure on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a total miss and a 10 being plastic perfection, based on what you feel the figure deserves. Ratings should take overall design, sculpt, paint apps and paint deco, accessories and articulation into consideration. Thanks for voting and Yooo Joe!!! I gave him an 8. I've no issues with the Techno-Viper worth docking a point for, but I do wish they had given us blast effects with the HMS. Also, the price was a little too high. This is closer to a 60-65 dollar set, not 75. Those two things lose it two points.

I agree about the price and think it definitely could have been in the $55-$60 range. I give it a 9, it compliments the HISS and the Fire Team really well and is a nice addition to the line. I prefer the original purple TV for sure though and would rate the HISS TV a 7 by himself, but the HMS elevates it to a 9.

50 dollars for a missile system. . . .
Lol . . . . . Techno Viper is fine I guess? I'm not exactly happy with 25 bucks for the figure either. 7/10 I don't have a Classified Hisstank. The set doesn't really do much for me.

THe HISS we got in Classified already has missiles so this feels really redundant behind the HISS and the eventual STINGER. We really need some kinda cobra vehicle with less missiles to haul this. I'm keeping mine as just a standalone missile system as the moment.

Oddly, I think the HMS is better without the HISS.

BTW I had already given my regular Techno-Viper an extra cable hose, but you can give this TV's hose to the other one if you want to have two. I also gave this HISS Techno-Viper's backpack to my regular TV since I thought the red tanks contrast better with all the purple, and also looks like the vintage figure's card art or the 30th version.

So I had actually considered cancelling the pre-order just before I got the payment processing notification. I was having a hard time with the $75 price point. I'm very glad I decided to roll with it. The HMS itself is really well made...I mean it's built like a tank. It's relatively simple, but everything fits together well and the paint apps are perfect.
As for the Techno-Viper, I'm usually a stickler for the V1 figures, but like Tiger Force Outback, I think this TV is better than the original. I was never a huge fan of the purple figures. Red, grey, and black look more Cobra to me than the purple hues. 9/10 Minus one point for the high price. |

Can someone take a pick of a 4” cobra standing next to it? I’m thinking it might work still for ME figures.
