I am so excited about the kind of year 2008 will be for GI Joe. But i am wondering, do you think the toy line will start to fizzle out the closer we get to the movie? I know from what i read that around the time of the movie we will probably see figures from the movie popping up in stores, but that doesn't mean that the 25th line should go away, does it. The movie figures could be their own line or even 12 inch figures. I am just curious that if we keep the 25th line alive, that Hasbro may keep it for years to come...

I'd rather we get more 25th anniversary figures then movie joes.
So far it's not looking good :( |

I thought I read somewhere that the 25th line would end in the summer, but the body style of the new figures would continue until the movie figures came out.

Well I don't mean to jinx you guys, but I'm afraid I would be alright with the official 25th line ending at the movie. After all, I am a college student and I just though it would be cool to have a complete set of all the 25th figures released, but if the line continues after the movie, I really don't see anything too intersting being released other then repaints, or moive joes, which I will decide on after I see the movie.

So if a 25A Ripcord doesn't make it out before they start pumping the movie, I guess he won't be the familiar redhead....
I do expect Hasbro to run with the movie as the future of the figure line. That's what they will expect kids to go out and buy. We old time fans will be secondary - and if the movie is a success, we may eventually see more comic/cartoon 25A style but the focus will be on the movie for a while. |

Habro already said that after the movie line ends, that this ARAH update line would probably continue (I guess if sales stay as high as they are, there's no reason to think otherwise).

I think all of you are paranoid and we will still get classic themed stuff alongside the movie stuff. Hell if the movie line does well, that bodes even better, more money for r/d on classic stuff. Will it still have the 25th anniversary sticker? No, why would it? By then it wouldn't be the 25th anniversary anymore. Even in the q/a's Hasbro said there is a better chance of bigger vehicles and such coming out when the movie does. That means reissues of bigger vehicles and new big vehicles for both the movie line and anniversary line. If the movie does well, we will get treated well. Look at Transformers. Look at Star wars. More than 1 line at a time, yet still coexisting.
I look at gijoe as becoming similar to Star Wars, 1 mainline, and a coexisting sideline called Legends. |

I agree. Star Wars figs based on the movies, are a majority of the line, but Hasbro also throws in comic & video game characters. I see Hasbo doing the same thing fot GI Joe. A majority of fig's will be movie based, but classic Joes will be in the mix too, especially after the movie dies down.
