If a Snake Eyes movie is ever made, there might be toys for that, as well as some kids’ meal merchandising efforts in fast food restaurants. Possibly a Snake Eyes sword and mask roleplay set, like the ones made for the previous G.I. Joe films. Maybe a Snake Eyes action figure that is 12 inches tall, with some form of limited articulation (example: Spider-Man in the Titan Hero Series). For toys in the 3 3/4 scale, I would only expect to see a Snake Eyes 5 POA action figure that comes with a Rip N Go zip cord powered motorcycle.

Yeah, I'm afraid all of us that are waiting for Joe to come back with the mew movie are going to be in for a rude awakening. I think it will go exactly as you said. If we get any action figures apart from those awful 12" things, I think it will be like those terribly sculpted 5" figures for Black Panther and Infinity War that Walmer can't even give away.

Was just at a few retail shops, female action figures are going over like uranium balloons. $3 SW Black series Leah with no takers, lol. Some genius make a SW 5 POS 4 pack with 2 troopers and 2 females. Clearanced twice or thrice and no takers either.

I think the women figures would sell, but they are put in the wrong place in the store. Put them on endcaps in between the boys and girls toys so the girls can see them.

Kevin Feige relaunches GI Joe on the big screen using the Marvel-Larry Hama comics as inspiration, the same way Feige leaned on the Marvel comics for the MCU.
Separately all the Sunbow cartoons go to Netflix and a new animated series, a continuation of Sunbow post the 86 movie with similar aesthetics, launches. This is my "will never happen but what I want" future for GI Joe. And I'm sure we'd all watch. |

I was just thinking about this issue again as I watched some 7ish year old explaining to my 5year old son what the hell Fortnite is while standing in the middle of a Target isle. I still dont get it but the kid seemed stoked to get the figures, which were 4in scale and included guns and weapons. My son naturally passed and picked up yet another Imaginext Batcave instead. But I couldn't help but think that kid easily could have been a Joe fan had he had some exposure to it.

I gave up trying to figure out what to expect.
Will we get new product? Yeah probably. What? No idea. Will it it be like the golden age? Doubt it. But Hasbro probably wont 100% give up on it. Hasbro hates to leave money in our pockets so I'm sure we will get sporadic product here and there. Some we'll like...others not so much. There will probably be efforts to make the property 'fresh' to a younger generation and maintain a connection to the long time fan base. And I'm sure there will be a push, big or moderate during the SE film..but over all I expect we'll get whatever we get. At times probably disappointed more often than I am happy but I've come to a simple plan. Buy what I like. (and can afford). Don't buy what I don't like. Be glad for what I do like and get. And appreciate the break my wallet gets during the down times. Cause frankly it needs it. |

I think that maybe more of a SW problem. I was just at Five Below and they had half an isle full of SW stuff heavily discounted. I was surprised to see 8 pegs full of the 6" SW Black Series, all mix characters at $5. I have also seen the Lego SW sets on discount at retail shops.

For the near future (End of Club through Next Movie) the status will be:
1) Customs including 3rd Party Parts such as MTF, Boss Fight, etc. There are more options now more than ever. 2) Filling holes in my ARAH collection 3) Restoring Vehicles / Custom painting vehicles with my Airbrush The hobby only dies if you let it. We haven’t had retail product in years.
