im writing this mainly because every post has a ton of negative things about the rise of cobra line so here are some things i find superior to the classic line.
for people who are easily offended, please remember this is a discussion about toys, not war in the middle east, religion, pro-life issues, or politics. if you have to rage, direct it to a toy board that truly deserves scorn. My Little Pony Arena Forums Home and here are the top ten reasons rise of cobra > 25th anniversary just about every character has a better design such as cobra commander no longer being a scrawny dude that looks like the butt of every joke ever in his blue sailor outfit and rag over his head. destro in his ambiguous S&M spandex and disco diamond necklace. shipwrech looking like a sailor. (lol) snake eyes no longer wearing tights, but an awesome trenchcoat. and zartan no longer having a belly shirt. we get a movie and a game out of the deal never got any joe games since like 91. all hail rise of cobra! the joes uniforms actually match no more pow wow joes and ridiculous baseball themed ponch bellied mustachioed comic relief. no more twenty different types of green camo that dont look right when displayed. no more , oh wait rise of cobra barbecue is just as bad... the cobra vipers actually look intimidating i love the old vipers and troops but the new guys looks way more threatening and awesome. i dont prefer them over the old but i already have them to the nth degree so i welcome something different and awesome with more gear and crazy evil looking helmets. if you dont like them because theyre too outlandish then enjoy your range vipers. lol the sculpting is of a higher quality rise of cobra flash is a testament to excellence. 25th flash is a testament to how lame the original joes quilted armor was. nostalgia blinders dont change that. its not the same old rehashed stuff from the 80's id much rather see brand new designs than rehashes of EVERYTHING from 30 years ago. the new guns are realistic and awesome (mp7's etc.) mp7's come on, they couldnt pack an anniversary figure with them. more gear than any 25th figure ever had. and paraviper doesnt count because he was obviously sculpted to fit in with the movie line. for all the critics who dislike ROC, guess what? they released him early to test the new design and you ate it up! hahah =] larger fan base = more product more frequently joes only came out every two months or so, now we have 3 or 4 waves coming out in the same month and tons of stuff streaming in for the indefinite future. splendid. and whats better you can actually find it at retail unlike the old line that was usually picked over and scalped before it ever hit the shelves. and the top reason rise of cobra toys are better than 25th anniversary.... not nearly as may people will be be scalping them all and making it a pain in the ass to collect them! seriously, FU to whatever conspiracy was behind me NEVER finding ANYTHING ANYWHERE! its harder to find more than wild bill and python patrol viper than it is to find buried treasure in a sandbox. anyway theres my contribution to a topic. |

Meh, the characters all look bland and the 90% of the accessories suck. Yes, its easier to find stuff on shelves when few people want them.

I grew up on the vintage figures (25th) but there were some figures I didn't want. Red Ninja, Cobra Diver, Matt Trakker, Cobra Flint, Pilot Scarlet to name a very few. If it didn't fall in with the years 1982-1994 I wasn't buying. Eventually I came around and got them all.
I'll have to admit I like the ROC figures more then I thought I would. I was a semi hater in the beginning but I've come around to an extent. I will state that this movie will have to blow my frickin' mind to ever make me want to buy a Breaker, Heavy Duty, Zartan, Cover Girl or Rip Cord figure. I'm just not biting on that stuff. Even if the ever reach the Target clearance price of $1.74 I'd have to really think about it.

lol of course not!
but its a theory ive had for a long time and it makes alot of sense. even if its not you have to admit the uncanny semblance to the rest of ROC. on another point, the ROC paraviper is a hundred times cooler than the 25th one. |
