The BTR “Rabbit Hole” :)

Sooo...I’ve always hated Legos. Buuut...I’ve also grown a love for “Jump the Shark” and outside the box thinking with 4” Joes. That’s left me with...

...an unsatiable appetite for Built to Rule (BTR)!

Yep, fell down the “Rabbit Hole” pretty far. I now have all 11 common sets, and have a deal in place for another 4, and a few leads on the remaining 4.

Turns out, they are a lot of fun to put together! Crazy, I know.

I’ll be posting updated pics here as I assemble and acquire. But anyone who wants to paste their pics and/or love/hate for the line, fire away!

Nice! I remember finding firefly's dune buggy @ tru for $4 and the armadillo one for $6!

Found the first wave of these at a local discount store long ago and picked them up for my son. Thought they were pretty cool as my son was really into lego back then but the blocks didn't lock together as good as lego. Still have them too.

I was the same way. I had never paid attention to the line when it was at retail, but least year I was just searching online for Joe vehicles and BTR images popped up and as I started checking out more images on Joe-A-Day, I thought "these are kinda cool". The JAD website has all kinds of awesome builds not shown in the instruction manuals. Looking up the other BTR sets lead me to the Tonka BTR sets(I have the fire truck that I was gonna convert to my Adventure Team) and they also have Transformer BTR sets.

Yeah, I would imagine Lego blocks would lock into place better and consistently more so over time. But for a one click and display, they’ve been great so far.

I have to say, the figures generally suck. And it’s not even the Lego block arm/leg feature—it’s the problem that plagues the New Sculpt era: wonky hips messing with the leg positioning, rubbery plastic, and bulky limbs.

Firefly and Barrel Roll were good, Moray and Hollow Point were ok, and the rest were meh.
