Cool! 3D printing can be a real blessing sometimes. Do you know what type of material it was made from? If it's ABS, you can use acetone vapor to help smooth out the print lines, if you want to try to improve the appearance.

I also didn’t trust it as I added on bricks (I could see it bending/not staying rigid), so I supported underneath the new piece with my hand as I added on.

Yeah! That's a good sport right there. And has his priorities in the right place.
Anyways, how big was that plate again, inch-or-centimeter-wise? I could try printing them out for you if you want; my printer does pretty good results.

Thanks, but I think I’m cool with mine. Bubbavader might need a set, though (see pg. 6 of this thread). Would you need just the lxwxh dimensions of the base piece, or the thinner top piece, too?

If you can get someone to print you those parts in PLA or ABS in an enclosure with a solid infill, at a slower speed, and with finer resolution/layer height, then you can get better, stronger, printed parts.

The largest piece would be the limiting factor, so probably the "base" piece. I would consider combine both together into one model, if the original part was all one piece; I assume that would be sturdier than two smaller pieces. Anyways, if you've got it handled, that's good. I'm down to try printing some out for other folks if you're willing to share the model(s). I'm guessing you're using .stl format?
