Okay, so I have about $200 to blow on toys and I am heading to Toys R Us in the morning after Mass to get rid of it. For the people who have purchased a Gunship, what is your opinion? I already have the APV Hummer vehicle and I am going to pick up another one of those, a couple of movie Vipers and was just wondering if this toy was worth getting one maybe two or three of. I appreciate any and all input on this.

I have three. They where worth it to me but I am an army builder. If you are looking for realism stay away from this toy, they are not based on any real world vehicle. Yet is you are looking for an Sci Fi item the gunship is truly one. It has a lot of play value for the Sci Fi fan.
Buy what ever makes you happy. If you like the gunship, go for it but if you are on the fence, stay away. It really is not for everyone.

It is supposed to be a flying machine, and I have no room for flying machines. I currently have 3 firebat's and 2 trouble bubbles in a confined setup space. I'd get it for Firefly and his gear only.

I am glad I picked this up. I didn't like it at first but then it grew on me after I saw it in person. Kind of like the Sky hawk for cobra... but with more seats. My favorite details are the grab handles located under neath, "for quick extration".
Pick this up! Its Neat!

Tomorrow, they are suppose to go on sale at TRU. My 2 cents is that it is a very nice aircraft that gives Cobra a light troop transport and gunship (think of it like the night attack chopper but smaller).

Hated it. I give it 1 snap, in a NO formation!
The gunship in the movie appears to be SO much bigger, they downsized it a lot for the toy. The problems sitting in the back are just insult to injury in my opinion :(

Thanks for the input so far. I know they are going to be on sale for $20 or so starting tomorrow. I'm debating on picking up the PIT playset but can't really make up my mind. I collect Star Wars stuff as well and Transformers and I want Devastator, the Turbo Tank and another AT-TE but that PIT looks awesome to me.

Tomorrow, eh? Hmm...
The gunship is basically the helicopter that you'd figure it to be without a rotor. Firefly doesn't sit very well in the cockpit thanks to the crotch design still not being fixed for this mold. Plus it only has two seats for transport which makes it more of an escort than a troop carrier in my opinion. Still, I like the look, I just wish they'd taken the time to add more seats and a rotor or turbines like the Skyhawk. |
