I am finding it hard to keep the helmets from falling off my female Cobra Troopers. In fact, the helmets really just sit on their heads without really locking on at all, meaning the slightest movement knocks them off.
The problem isn't as bad with POC Cobra troopers, but it still exists. I'm wondering if Loctite Fun Tak (blu tak) could solve this problem in a temporary way (meaning the tak could be removed). How hard would it be to remove the blu tak later? Has anyone tried this? I don't want to glue the helmets on and I don't want to mar the figures if the blu tak can't easily washed off.

I've used it for head sockets, but not for helmets. I haven't seen any discoloration of the neck post yet. I've found that the 25th Cobra Officer helmet fits her head very well.

I use hot glue, once dry it too can peel off if need be.

Is there any real difference between Silly Putty and blu tak? I only ask because I already have lots of the Loctite Fun Tak. I can certainly buy some silly putty if needed though.

As a teacher I used Blu Tak on all of my classroom walls. It did leave a slight discoloration on sheet rock. I think you would have better luck with the silly putty.

I never ever ever use blue tack on my toys. It discolors stuff and leaves stains and even leaves oily residue.
If you're trying to create friction to keep a helmet on, go simple. Use some paper. Fold it over and over and then when it's nice and tight, there you go. It'll keep the helmet on and no paint will rub off, and no oily residue. Just make sure all the paper is tucked under the helmet. |

To be clear, original Silly Putty specifically says it won't stick on anything.
That will work to keep a helmet on?

For what it's worth I'm very A type, especially when it comes to my collection, and have used Loctite fun-tak for years to adjust neck ball joints and keep helmet on without issue. Do whatever you think is best and enjoy your new and growing collection! Last edited by Dod Ear; 08-18-2018 at 11:43 PM.. |
