I still think it'll narrowly make it to the necessary amount, mostly in the last couple days. I also am QUITE certain that if it doesn't get funded, collectors will claim it's all Hasbro's fault and not in any way consider what not being able to reach that number really says about the state of the hobby. To be clear, it won't be the fault of collectors either, beyond the usual tendency to feel like/assume there are "more like them" out there than there really are. |

I'm 99.9% sure if they opened this project up world wide there would be no problems funding this thing at all

I don't know man. The most successful kickstarters in history barely go over 2 million. And those are already really, REALLY rare. Hasbro is essneitllay asking for Star Wars Fans to pony up one of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns in history, aka tons of dough.
This ain't a Shen Mue kickstarter, a whopping $500 entry fee is similar to the Occulus rift Kickstarter, and even then, that kickstarter with it's goal stretching and funding padding STILL didn't make 2.5 million. It's a successful mainstream product now, but the Occulus Kickstarter didn't exactly show mainstream support on it's own. |

Is this even really a Kickstarter? Hasbro is a multi-million Dollar publically traded company. To me it is a simple pre-order with a minimum order quantity to start. Is there any risk Hasbro won’t deliver after they are funded? I’d also note in their mission statement their goal is “to make products that are trophy items both in significance and size...” Both significance and size tells me they won’t want to mess around with small items like completing the modern ARAH figures. Whether they would want to “re-do” large items already done like the Flagg or TD is to be seen.
But I won’t hold my breath. “HASLAB is Hasbro's new crowdsourcing platform that hopes to bring dream products into the hands of fans. With your support, our goal is to make products that are trophy items both in significance and size that fans have been clamoring for. Once the campaign is backed with the minimum number of backers as listed by the deadline, Hasbro will bring the product to life.” |

Yes, even though I am not a backer I check on it every day. I really do wish it to be a success, but it looks less promising each day that passes. At this point they would need approximately 135 backers a day or $67,500 to make the 5,000 backers goal.
And maybe it is not bad if they can't reach that goal, then Gi Joe may be something to consider at a 2,000 or 2,500 backer goal. All they need to check is how many FSS subscribers sign up on average for the Gi Joe Club at $400+. So their market research is already done for them, I do not know, but if they fall well short of their goal on this it reveals that they really did not research this idea very well. Well if Kickstarter has taught me anything it's that the bulk of the sales come at the very begining and very end of the time window. Brian Flynn also confirmed this with his S7 MotU preorder system. I'm not worried yet as long as we hit over 50% before the last week. I'll be ordering, just putting the cash aside week by week. I wonder if there have been or will be any institutional Etailer sales to mark up and sell to over seas fans or if the shipping on this behemoth will make selling these prohibative?
Lock S-foils baby! We're going in!

As a tip for fellow European fans, you can order a Barge through Dark Side Toys right now at a very reasonable price. I did so this morning. Seems a lot less risky than through a mail forwarding company.
