I didn't used to..but now it seems I'm like a crack head looking for my next fix. I typically display them in a manner that makes sense. If they are Cobra Vipers, they all go together. If they are CG..same, unless they are a sub team, and them the sub team goes together. Some of the best army builders are also some of the most expensive unfortunately. I'm amassing POC troopers, Retaliation CG's and POC Alley vipers right now. I have a cut-off amount of each...just not sure what that cut-off is yet.

I can certainly appreciate massive armies of figures, but for me personally, I'd prefer to do only twelve of each army-builder-type...to me that's just enough to make an impression on display or in dios, but a small-enough size to manage and store reasonably. But man...isn't it fun to look at huge armies of them?! As for those acrylic aircraft stands, I've seen a seller on eBay that makes custom G.I. Joe stands that feature laser-etched Joe logos. They also might include the name or logo of the given aircraft that each stand is made for. They look amazing, and they're very affordable. I'll have to look them up and give you guys a link... And those Detolf shelves? I love them...I bought one back in the summer for some of my Star Wars Gentle Giant and Code 3 stuff, and they're awesome. When I can afford them, I'd like to have more of them, namely one or two for my Joe stuff...

When I army build, I organize my "troops" into units:
4 Troops + 1 Squad Leader/Sergeant (or 5 Troops if no Sergeant is available) form a Squad. 2-3 Squads + 1 Platoon Sergeant (optionally +1 Platoon Officer or +2 Platoon Officers w/no PS) form a Platoon. 2-3 Platoons + 1 Company Sergeant and + 1 Officer form a Company. 2-4 Companies + 1 Squad of Officers (and other Support Squads) form a Battalion. I don't build any bigger than this. This works out great as vehicles like the VAMP and Steel Crusher can hold 5 figures comfortably - so just three of these vehicles (plus a smaller vehicle for the officers can form a mechanized platoon!
