I think you guys are hitting the nail on the head. Our 25th line will end this summer(well, the *actual* 25th, it'll be just GIJoe), and then it will last until probably summer of '09. If they keep pumping out figures like they have been so far, that's a lot of figures. Then when the movie hits(Aug '09?), the classic line will go away and the movie line will replace it, while the movie is around. I see the movie line lasting at least a year, with waves that will reflect what they've done with the 25th line. 5-8 figures per wave, *maybe* a multipack here and there. As the movie line dies down, we'll see the return of the classic Joes to shelves.
The classic Joes will pick up right where they left off, with single card, comic/toon/movie packs, and probably some 3 and 5pks. However, I think that we'll see some neat stuff in the new classic line, like perhaps movie versions of characters that weren't actually in the movie. Lady Jaye didn't make the cut? Movie-ize her! That goes for just about anyone. This new Joe line, like Star Wars before it, can literally go forever. It has the potential to rival, if not, dare I say, surpass the original line.

If Hasbro approaches this in the same way they did for Transformers when the movie was coming out, then the line will end months before the movie comes out. There will be a mass focus and push on the movie line, and then the possibility that the movie line will extend if it does well. After which they would start the 25th line up again.
I hope this doesn't happen though. I would love to see a great deal more figures and vehicles released before the line goes away. They are doing such a good job it would be a shame to see it go. |

All I want is for the figure lines to be compatible. Same scale, same articulation (or even improved). Do that and I'm happy.
