Sorry if this was already discussed, a search didn't pull anything up but I thought a six inch scale Snake Eyes was going to be one of the exclusives for SDCC. Did that get abandoned?

There was never a 6" Snake Eyes. It was never planned, it was never developed. It was never even a rumor.
It was basically people on this board saying "wouldn't it be cool if there were a 6" inch Snake Eyes?" and it got repeated so many times people started to think it was true. Wishful thinking. |

Everything that Otomo said is true. There was never official plans for a SDCC 6" exclusive Snake Eyes.
I want to make sure I write that so that what I say next is not taken as 'official'. Due to the popularity and success of the 6" line of Star Wars and Marvel figures at a $20 price point per figure, it would not surprise me if Hasbro has at least reviewed the feasibility of extending the scale to GI Joe. Here is what is going for a 6" GI Joe Line - Hasbro brands Marvel and Star Wars are doing well at this scale. - Consumers have supported mini vehicles and larger scale sets for both - The $20 price point is reachable even with added accessories as GI Joe is an in house property while Marvel and Star Wars are licensed. If GI Joe is seen at a 6" scale I would expect it to coincide somehow with the next movie release. If they mercifully put that movie to death then expect it for the 2016 Toy Fare / Joe con as the new Joe emerging out of the 50th Anniversary. They could call it the Joe for the next 50 years. |

I would love to see a six inch joe line. In some ways it would take the line closer to its roots since the line started as much larger twelve inch figures.
I have collected some of the six inch Star Wars figures and they are great! I first got the sandtrooper and liked it so much that I posed it all over the place. It feels like a real collector quality figure. I would love to see ARAH joes at this scale as well.

Whadya mean there's no 6 inch Snake Eyes?
While not an official version, this Snake Eyes was available to buy at a dealer's table at the 2010 Canadian Joecon. I guess more were produced later on as I was able to get one off of ebay Feb 2015.

There was talk, and it could still happen, but most of the fandom is not on board, and Hasbro, I'm sure, is listening.
