I vote for the 30th Anniversary stuff. Though a lot of that bleeds into the 50th, since a lot of them were concepts worked on at the same time as the 30th.
The reason that I chose the 30th stuff was because of Airtight and Sci Fi. I never cared for either figure or character as a kid. But when I got those new figures, I just couldn't put them down. They brought back the fun of the ARAH stuff. It's kind of a combination of things really. The sculpting is much better than on the 25th stuff. And they're just as crazy as the ARAH figures in style. POC was just dull and drab to me. It might as well have been a Call of Duty line. It had great sculpts and gear, but no soul. |

I said 30th too. I think there were more figures with great builds, and were very close to their ARAH predecessors (CT, Techno viper, sci-fi, etc). POC was great, but not enough figures looked like the ARAH figures. I did like the folded catalog with a dio pic though.

POC, I actually loved the fact that this line was inventive, reimagined many characters, and had well thought out accessories, and the file card art was great.

I was able to get all the figures mostly with no scarcity, or I at least had one chance to refuse scarce ones that I could not get again.
No, for me they were more sturdy figs and quality of design was far improved. |

POC has all the hits, even though some of the themes are borrowed at least its Hasbro producing original content for a figure line. 30th was too mixed between the Renegades and "throw back" figures. As much as I love Life Line and Sci-fi

Oh, also, I voted for the 50th simply because it has been the most fun for me, but that might have to do more with my mindset than the actual toys. The 25th was also a lot of fun for me, but I went so ape-shit with nostalgia-driven collecting that I burnt out on it and that's colored my impressions of it and subsequent "lines" a bit. You're right about ROC design (save the ubiquitous Turtle Viper arms).
Too much black or lackluster decos killed many of those. |
