9/10 - minus 1 point for the head. I don't mind that they reused a head for Bullhorn just not that one. The other parts work fine and the accessories all make sense, I just wish he had a different head, and because of the face camo, you can't even do an easy head swap.

7 - Nice figure, but the legs are wrong. I'd also give him an ME rifle.

5. One of the worst figures of 1990 is remade too faithfully with its drab, dreary colors. Would've been better to base this on the JoeCon repaint. The headband is unbelievably stupid. It was confusing enough why the original wore a hairnet. Now why the hell is this one wearing a headband? Did he just get back from a Jane Fonda workout class? And let us never forget that the guy's name is frickin' Bullhorn. His major skill is yelling into a bullhorn? He's a compassionate negotiator? What a horrible character. I still remember how disappointed I was to have to buy him in 1990 just to keep that year's basic figure collection complete.

Weird head choice. out of scale rifle. Unneeded head band (?), rifle case the rifle won't fit into.

I actually did some research to see if that might've been a hairnet on the original figure. Turns out it probably was. See where his last name comes from and then the hairnet/military connection.
"Ferreira, meaning "Blacksmith" is a Portuguese, Galician and Spanish surname." Quote:
It goes back to the days of the Spanish Inquisition.
To bind one's hair into a sheath of netted 'twine' (hair net) was to 'bind' one's alliegence to a military-style battalion. it showed affiliation to the Spanish Armada. Kind of like a uniform. On a more 'spiritual' level, a 'hair net' also denoted humility under God. To bind one's hair was a sign of servitude to Christendom - the Catholic Church whilst in battle.... Historically speaking, there is nothing '*****' about wearing a twine. It was a demarcation of bravery in combat and was a sign of loyalty. |
