1. Nocturnal Fire
2. Operation Bear Trap 3. Mission Brazil II 4. Zombie Initiative 5. Peril in Paradise 6. Crimson Strike I could swap 3 and 4. I'm also thinking of the souvenirs that went along with each theme and that's probably why I have MBII higher. I think Peril in Paradise stays at 5 for me once the souvenirs are known. I don't think it will be enough to bump it up even with something like a 3-pack of TARGAT.

I have to go with Operation Bear Trap due to the awesome OG figures. The IGs are good (Voltar being the best of that bunch) but they really did a good job on the Russians.
I'd put it just slightly ahead of the Nocturnal Fire set, which loses points for the crummy and flimsy bodies they used for the Frag Vipers/Letal and the lame lower legs of Cobra Mortal. Then the Zombies, Tiger Force, MTB2 and then the Crimson Strike team which I don't even own, it's kinda bland with too much Viper and too much red. It could've worked better with Baroness, the Twins, 6 of those Vipers, 2 special Vipers (like heavy weapons or something) and 4 Joes to fight against. |

It's hard for me to pick one definitive set since I cherry pick the ones I really want. However the Bear Trap set seems to be the only one that had the most figures I wished I could have but cannot because they are just too hard to get on the secondary market.

I actually said the zombie because I believe it was the most creative out of the bunch. I loved it a lot!

Since you can vote for all choices I think this poll is skewed.
For me: 1. Bear Trap. Just very well done. I like JediJone's observation. Voltar is awesome. (I also loved Darklon and the Sgt Major) Never picked up the Annihilators and now it's out of reach. Lots of new never before released characters in ME format. 2. Mission Brazil. Claymore and WetSuit were great. Python Patrol has always been requested and the finally did it. Cobra De Aco is fantastic. It may be the best Dial-Tone we've seen. Trigger and Lightning were also great figures! 3. Nocturnal Fire. (If they didn't just release all the figures for the FSS Subscription it might be higher. I love the SAW vipers. The Dancing Frags not so much, but they aren't that bad. I found the bonus figures weak though. 4. Tiger-Force. I might change my mind once in hand, but they figures seem ok. I'm not crazy about Yellow figures in general, so I am always turned off. THe premise of the set is a miss though. Seems too disjointed. I like the Anvils and Mayham and Metal-Head, and Wreckage. 5. Crimson Strike. Overall you have a stand alone set with lots of troopers. If they switched three troopers out for an Officer, and two sgts it would look perfect. The Bonus Argentinian figures were awesome. 6. Zombie INitiative. I hate Stupid Zombies and the color yellow. And another shitty Outback figure, and Eco-Force. Liked SB Commander, and Repulsor and the Toxo-Vipers. But don't love it. Didn't like the Bonus figures that much either, since they were just more Zombies.

I think the multi-option poll is great for this. Nobody's going to pick all 6 because they know it wouldn't mean anything. So essentially people get to use their vote as a thumbs up vs. a thumbs down. Otherwise the totals would only tell us what each person's single favorite set was.
At the time of Crimson Strike, Hasbro was still doing a lot of Joes at retail, so the club may have been limited in their options. There may not have been too many Joes they could do. Plus it was a direct homage to their first set. At the time ME figures were 95% about remaking existing figures. |

1. Nocturnal Fire
2. Zombie Initiative 3. Operation Bear Trap 4. Peril in Paradise 5. Mission Brazil II 6. Crimson Strike I know this is not going to be a popular opinion but I think Operation Bear Trap and Mission Brazil II are a little overrated. If I create a list of 100 greatest modern era G.I. Joe figures ever created, no figure from Mission Brazil II will make the list. For Operation Bear Trap, the only one that made my list is Colonel Brekhov but I can see the obsession with Voltar and every OG except Iron Bear. I know.. I know. Just my 2 cents. |

I said Operation Bear Trap because of the OG`s and Voltar. I also really like all the exclusives that year the most.
