I just got the new Lady Jaye - she's great. I consider her my definitive version. It got me thinking - what characters do we have definitive versions of and what characters are still lacking?
My opinions: HAVE a definitive version: Flint Lady Jaye Sci Fi Snake Eyes Storm Shadow Cobra Commander Destro Baroness Firefly Airtight Cross Country Mutt Repeater Airborne Zarana Road Pig Lifeline Leatherneck STILL NEED a definitive version (my top ten): Roadblock Hawk Scarlet Gung Ho Recondo Ripcord Buzzer Ripper Torch Zartan Opinions? |

I would pretty much agree with your who does list. I'm sure there are some others that are not on it that could be listed as well. As far as the still needs list, I would make some changes. As much as I hate to say it, Duke needs to be on there. The 25th one was re-released to death, but was not a very good figure. There have been some other really good figures of him, but not a definitive version of his classic version 1. I would also remove Zartan and the dreadnoks. I think the ones that have been done are quite good and there is not really a need for them to be remade. I love the unreleased concept case Zartan and would love to see it made, but it is not really vintage accurate. I think the single carded one with the swamp skier pretty much nailed it. I would probably also remove Hawk, assuming we are talking about the brown leather jacker version. The existing one is a good figure and really does not need much improvement. Now, it they wanted to do say, the talking battle commander one, that is a different story. I agree that Gung-Ho, Scarlett, Recondo, Roadblock and Ripcord are in need of better figures. I would add in Spirit, Major Bludd, a posable Deep six, Serpentor, Wet Suit and Thunder to the list.

They all seem fine to me. Most of them are replicas of vintage figs. I would like an accurate python copperhead though.

Flint. I think the 25th 5pk/HoH got closer than the 50th did.
Shipwreck. Wide-hips version just didn't capture the character. Gah, the ME is such a mixed bag at this point. The minute you think you're getting a great new update, you discover its saddled with soft plastic, rocker-ankle pigeon toes, wobble-knees, permanent ground gaze or 45 degree elbow bend. No new ME "Definitives" for me until the quality issues get resolved. ME figures just don't work right, with these problems. Just look to the 25th, brother. ;)

There are definitely some of the eary ones that need to be redone (Roadblock and Gungho stun me that they haven't been redone), and a few others (Monkeywrench outback, Tunneel Rat) that fell short of hopes.
But for the most part, I think the majority of figure have captured the originals quite well. No they're not all going to be exactly identical to the originals that were released 25 years ago.. but that's OK. But for heavens sake, ditch the rocker ankles. They're horrible on basically every figure that's saddled with them. |

Scarlett
The 25th figure has so many issues. -Soft head sculpt -Awful knee joins -Crotch is too wide making her look bow legged -Torso is too skinny. Cover Girl I like the FSS one, but I feel we need one based on the vintage figure/artwork with the short auburn hair. |
