Just curious. I'm guessing o-ring Joes were cheaper to tool than modern joes due to less parts count by way of less articulation. Now I know Hasbro said years back that they wouldn't go back to o-rings. So I'm thinking new figures like this would have a waist ball joint instead of an o-ring.
O-ring figures had the following points of articulation: ball jointed or swivel necks, ball-joint like torso, swivel knees and elbows, ball jointed hips, pin shoulders with universal range of motion. Back in the day I thought ARAH joes figures were way better than Star Wars figures because of full articulation. No ankle joints, hinged, let alone swivel wrists, yet still fun. With Hasbro cutting costs and some thinking modern era style joes days are numbered at retail, would you settle for a new line of Joes sans o-ring but with ARAH style o-ring like articulation? It would be cool if the holes on the back compatible with ARAH backpacks were reintroduced again too. |

It's a tough question to answer for me but I'm sure there are plenty of ARAH loyalists here who would love the idea. If they were well made I would be open to buying a few I really wanted.

A million times YES! As long as the torso is one piece like the ARAH figures, so that you can swap out legs without having to paint anything. The fact that both ARAH figures and the ME figures are so easy to unscrew or pop apart is something Hasbro should be pushing as a feature, not just a happy accident. They need to encourage simple stuff like head-swapping and say that every figure is customizable to the point that no two people could ever have the same collection.

Not only yes, but hell yes! I would totally be down with that if they would do it. It would be like a Joe version of the Saga Legends/Rebels line for Star Wars with the classic characters redone in 5POA. Except I'd like to see them make all new characters (like they did during the early 2000s) and even remake old ARAH Joes on the side but with completely new super detailed sculpts. It's working with Star Wars, it could work with Joes too I think.
I wonder if the harder plastic would be cheaper to make compared to the softer plastic the figures are made of now. |

Wrist articulation is necessary. It makes having figures aim their weapons so much better. Not every character should be making hip shots.
While I love ribcage articulation, I think having a ball waist articulation is an interesting idea. I believe Marauder is dong that. I like the idea of being able to swap upper and lower bodies to create something new. |

Heck Yeah!!!
O-ring Joes with modern sculpts would be the bomb. They should keep the wrist swivel too, but can lose the ankle articulation if they want. |

No the Nu-sculpt area proved that o-ring construction was limiting what could be done. Keep it modern.

It took ME over a year to start consistently producing stuff that was as solid as what we were getting in late 2004 and 2005.

I voted no , only because they tried that years back at tru and the dollar general family dollar stores , if they dedicated a whole line and with vehicles to match maybe but i doubt it i grew up on arah , my sons first joes were my joes but modern era won us both over . It would be real hard to go back to no swivel hands, feet and all that good stuff .. Meh
